Day/Night mirror?

Does anybody know if there is a day/night mirror that would replace the stock rear view mirror on a SPF MkIII and look right? As the days are shorter I'm doing more driving at night and its brutal getting blinded by headlights in the mirror. I'm ending up tilting the mirror up to avoid the glare and that isn't good because then I don't know what's going on behind me. My car is a later car, #2708. Thanks.

Cover it with panty hose. It works like a polarized lens.

I also hated the lights at night. So I got a small piece of window tint and applied it after disassembling the mirror about 3 years ago. Applied it with a little water and a drop of Ivory soap. Then cut of the excess with a sharp stainless steel blade knife. Reassembled and walla!

Works great.

you could also probably find a polarized slip of film and do the tint trick.

remember polarized has an effective angle and usually there is a 0 degree and a 180 degree mark on the film. you can test this with two slips of film and tip them at 90 degree angles from each other.

one angle you can see through both angles, one angle they "black out" --to have the best reduction in glare, the orientation marks should be at 0-and 180 west and east on a compass if you will-- as if you were looking at a map on your mirror.
