I obtained the license plate bracket when I purchased my SPF (the dealer had them in stock). I didn't install it right away------thought it detracted from the overall appearance of the car. However, after some "prodding" from the local constables, I decided to install it.

Installation did require some minor engineering. The two bumper quick jack rods need to be cut so the license plate bracket can be installed (be careful when cutting because the correct dimension is of concern). As a note, I used a fine hack saw blade and it worked perfectly-------no burrs, gouges or blemishes. The small bracket that attaches to the parking light is not necessary but is recommended. It helps keep the license plate bracket from "whipping" around, especially at higher speeds. The small bracket required some minor drilling to oversize the hoes some to allow a fit over the parking light screws (the bracket utilizes the existing screws in the parking light).

The whole installation process, from start to finish, required about an hour. It doesn't look terribly bad and it doesn't cover any of the parking light. However, I think it detracts from the overall look of the car. But, for peace of mind in keeping the local constables appeased, it's well worth it.

I installed my front plate bracket several years ago (same design as yours).

Took a little time to get everything to line up, but did not have to make any modifications. Mine has stainless hardware, so I have no corrosion from my winter driving (although I tapped a snowbank before this photo was taken :-)

Jim

Go to autozone and buy a 195F thermostat, the ones for $3.95. You wont need the cardboard over your radiator anymore. The pos expensive ones (mr gasket etc) alway allow leak by even when they are closed. Go pick one up and blow through it you will be amazed. 180F is too cold also, it wont close until 170F.

I did a write up couple months ago. Another key point is if the thermostat open at 195F it wount be fully closed until 185F!! Thermostat determine minimuim operating temp not maximuim.

Keep your oil cooler blocked off.
