				SPF in Ireland

		Hi folks,
SPF2370 has arrived at her new home in the Republic of Ireland
I bought her over the internet (was also advertised here in the forum) and she came all the way from Arizona. I picked her up in Roosendaal/Netherlands, and then drove her to Belgium, onto the ferry to Hull in England, across England to Holyhead, onto the ferry to Dublin and then down to our house in the Irish Midlands The whole trip was a pleasure, the soft top keeps you fairly dry and has only a few small leaks, and the heater works wonderfull (0 C° or only a small bit above zero for most of the trip !). Here's a pic, taken at the ferry port in Holyhead / Wales en route to Ireland:

So if any of you guys ever makes it to Ireland - call in for a cuppa !

Now that must have been a "GREAT" ride.
I have driven on a few roads in those areas over the years.
But I'll bet the price of gasoline made that an expensive trip.
I'll just bet you were the only Cobra on the boat, and probably the only one you saw on the trip home?
Was it a boat of a hover craft for the water portion of the trip?
Where di you enter and leave the water?
Congrats on the purchase....
BTW:
I know #2370's previous owner purchased a copy of my MKIII wiring diagram. If he included it with the car purchase, sent me your email address (offline) and I'll be sure to forward you any updates and additions that occure in the future.

Glad you had a good trip. We have friends we stay with in Cork sometimes. Some of the countryside roads are so narrow. Spent 4 weeks last summer. I now know why Ireland is so green. Lots of Rain!!

		Hi folks,
more news on my SPF: it is certainly the only one in the Republic of Ireland and she got her Irish "passport" yesterday - her Irish title She has been titled as a "Ford AC Cobra", first registered May 1965 ... That means she is a vintage, exempt from all tests !

To answer a few questions:

>> But I'll bet the price of gasoline made that an expensive trip.
Wasn't too bad, because I had to take it easy anyhow, for weather-reasons ... She did approx 18 mls to the (imperial !) gallon, which is very economic for an engine that size, I reckon anyway.

>> I'll just bet you were the only Cobra on the boat, and probably the only one you saw on the trip home?
Yep, haven't seen another one since
>> Was it a boat of a hover craft for the water portion of the trip
The ferry from Belgium (Brugge) to England (Kingston-upon-Hull) is a standard RoRo ferry, travel time 14 hours over night, nice and comfy. The fast ferry from Wales to Ireland is a catamaran-ferry, actually the largest one world-wide ! And it takes only 100 mins for the crossing from Holyhead to Dublin.

>> I know #2370's previous owner purchased a copy of my MKIII wiring diagram. If he included it with the car purchase...
Yes, he did ! And we are still in contact regularily You can find my email address in my public profile Thanks for the offer, I'm delighted and will tell Tom B, the previous owner
Well lads, you know where I am and if you ever make it to Ireland and want to hear a big roooaaar - don't be shy, get in touch !
