Default Has to be the Alternator right?

Okay, long story short - alternator is a tested 100a one wire. I had a lot of rewiring to do, a rebuilt MSD, etc. All tested and tested again.

Car fire up like a champ and idles perfectly - I am only measuring 12.5v on the battery when the car is idling, my experience is I am supposed to be getting 13.5v when the alternator is charging. Everything in the car works get electrically.

I am suspicious that the alternator is not charging, so I disconnect the battery while the car is running and it dies....

Again, its a one wire alternator, and when I suspected my MSD ignition went (prior to its repair) I had the alternator tested again, which it passed with flying colors. The alternator, to limit and potential wiring issues, is wired directly to the battery side of the remote selenoid. Seems impossible to screw up.

I guess I can now take that wire from the RS while the engine is running to see if I get any voltage, correct? I do not know what else could be wrong with such a simple slam dunk setup, or so you would think...

Rtstrack - got it going with your suggestion! Just needed to rev up the motor to get it "excited"? Whatever you call it, it worked, and jumped up in voltage afterwards when the car went back into idle. I was about to take a 3lb hammer to it.

Thank you.
