Hey Jeff, it looks like you might have a little too much cable. The ferrule goes through the bracket and is held in place by a circlip. A pin through your clevis should be enough. We may need to do something with the cable length, check here for some ends you could use.

I have a bag of cable seals, I'll bet we could figure a way to crimp them on the ends.
