Default Dashboard switches/knobs

I guys,
Newcomer to this forum, I already apologize in advance for my naive and irrelevant questions.
Staring at some pics of a Superformance 289 replica, I noticed the two (pull) air knobs located on either side of the dashboard.
What is their purpose ? Is it meant to control the floor heating flow for each occupant of the car ?
Thanks and have a good day.

OK, I got the answer. These are the (optionnal) outside fresh air floor box controls.

Now, a last question.
On each side of the clock, there are to up/down switches (see pic).
I assume one is for the headlights, but what about the other ?
Thanks again.

Switch on left is headlights (off/park/running lights) and the right switch is the cooling fan override. Also all original Cobras had a black dash regardless of the seat color. We give our customers their choice so the can properly replicate a 260/289 or go with the red/tan or grey dash.

Thanks a lot !

For the fan override switch, is it a simple ON/OFF toggle ?

Have a very good day.

Yes. It typically runs in parallel with a thermoswitch.

As Bob said, an "on/off" switch that overrides the thermostatic switch to trigger the fan relay.

The wiring diagrams for the Superformance and Shelby 289 based cars that we have available along with the custom Owner’s Manual packages clearly identify all the dash controls. From time to time owners add toggles for auxiliary lighting, etc. The manual fan switch is a great thing to have if stuck in traffic especially on a hot day. The manual fan switch over-rides the temperature activated fan switch on the radiator. The fan will continuously regardless of coolant temperature.

Thanks everyone for your quick and accurate answers.
Regarding the foot box ventilation, is it really efficient? Does it really cool down the interior of the car?
And is it linked to the heater fan or is the air flow only generated by the speed of the car?
Thanks again.

Air flow in the footbox ducts is generated by the car movement. The heater fan is not linked to the ducts, air for the heater is sourced from the cockpit. you can however move a good volume of air with the heater fan. In my 289 we adjust the airflow to "floor" and run the heater fan on low of medium to circulate air. On a really hot day it helps. On cars we deliver we also insulate the tunnel with "LizardSkin" thermal insulation spray to reduce heat transfer from the tunnel.

Excellent tip, thanks.
And I think it's way more efficient than the footbox ventilation which, as you wrote, relies on the car's movement.
