Default 9” diff centering

I have an FE,toploader, 9” 5 link, coil overs, the diff is centered from frame to the axle hubs but the Everett-Morrison body hangs over the left rear wheel about 3/8” more than the right side. Should this be set by a 4 wheel alignment or is it acceptable to center it to the body or just leave it alone? It does launch and cruise straight. Could just be body variances. Maybe put a 1/4” or so wheel spacer on left side?

My vote would be to center the axel to the frame. If it is, then the body is either not centered on the frame or it is not symmetrical. If it is a symmetry issue, leave it alone.

My body is about 3/8 to 1/2 inch to one side.. in 6 years of shows, parking lots and running down the road not one person has noticed the difference or mentioned it... I'm the only one it bothers and I don't think about it anymore Make sure your drive train is centered and lined up... Steve

While optics can be problematic, the real issue is a wheelbase that is not square. That means the car turns differently depending on whether you turn right or left. You need to get the wheelbase square. Attend to optics after that.
