Code Scanner?

I know this is not Cobra related, but can anyone recommend a good code scanner for use on a '98 Toyota pick up truck and a sugestion for where to buy it?
My dad's check engine light came on at 65k and won't go off. All sensors seem to check out ok on the volt meter. Checked Summit, Pep Boys and the local parts store, but have not seemed that great. Any help would be appreciated.

Your nearest Autozone parts store offer a free service to pull the codes for you. For the average DIY a scantool is WAY too expensive to be practical. Ck.

for a nearby store . Lots of them in New Jersey. Remember a scantool only points in the right direction, it doesn't give answers.
