NAF was North American Fiberglas out of the Phoenix area.
Made a nice kit with good bodies.
They are no longer in business.

NAF which was considered among the best was sold by it's owner, Jack Kube and was renamed ASPP Auto Sport Performance Products. They continued making Cobras but concetrated more on a Fiero based GT40 kit. About two years ago Jack bought back the company and continues to use the ASPP name.
I have an '89 that was factory built and it's awesome. Hope this helps.

To add to Daves comments: ASPP was only around for a few years, if that long. I spoke with a lady named Andi there a few times back around the first part of 94 and about Sept of 94 there was a fire at the ASPP shop in Tempe, AZ. which ended things. Jack Kube has all of the original NAF documents and sales paperworks and he is in Superior, AZ., doing mostly the Fierro based GT40, although I've heard he is also doing Cobras and even has a Coupe plug he is working on. As far as I know, NAF or ASPP were never in El Cajon, CA.

Default NAF

As the owner of a NAF 289 slabside bodied car I can attest to the accuracy of the body and the elaborate reinforcing throughout with regard to the glass work. The body is made of hand laid glass rather than being shot from a chopper gun and is quite sturdy. The chassis was originally a 2x4 box tubing ladder type that utilized a Mustang II front subframe including the small brakes. It was grafted without any modifications done to the subframe itself by butt welding to the tubing rather crudely. The rear end in my particular car was a originally a narrowed 8" live axle out of a 60's or mid 70's car such as a Mustang or Maverick (?), drum brakes included. When thes cars were being made in the early to mid 80's there weren't as many manufacturers as there are now and NAF was highly regarded. It has been modeled after and looks very similar to the car Bob Johnson drove so sucessfully. The red "Competition Cobra" poster hangs in my garage as a incentive.
