Default Electric door latches

I just purchased a pair of keyless entry Power Bear Claw Latches from a source, I have used for years. The price was up 5 dollars or so from the last purchase, so what else is new. Well, the increase was well worth it, as the product was actually improved and was a higher value for the money, something not seen to often these days.

I used Rocky Hinge company SPD -01 electric door lock kit. It included 4 relays all pre-wired, mounted on a plexiglass sheet, strikers and a self contained electric door mechanism, and easy to read instructions. I like using this type as there are no connection of levers etc. It is an all in one unit. The vehicle now has electric door unlocking and with their door poppers makes a vehicle that can be parked without worrying, if someone is going to try to get in as no door handles are present on the outside, as on the orginial Daytona Coupes. This system has a third station for a trunk or hood unlatching mechanism.

Their E-mail is rockyhinge.com if interested.

Really, there is nothing to see. All you see is where the latches are in the door where the striker enters to lock the door. The electric part is hidden inside the door. It is a one piece mechanism that attaches to the door with three screws, Rocky provides allen head screws with the kit. Look at the web site and use the product number to go to the correct page. It is pictured there. It's to late for me to include a photo of the mechanism as they are wired into the doors now. Tested them for the first time this morning with the remote an they both unlocked.

You have to remember that a ground wire has to be run to the mechanism as they were designed to be in a metal door that would be grounded. Also, when wiring the system the power line must be HOT all the time. Wire it to the hot side of your master cut off. The kit comes with an interior master rocker switch to open the doors electrically from inside the car. The mechanism comes with wire cables etc. to run to a pull type manual door opening handle inside the car.
