Finally! I got it!
I will post some pictures the first part of next week...Going to the CVAR weekend at Hallett in the AM. This new toy weighs 925 pounds, jumps out with 135 HP, at 148 ft pounds of torque, it's a vintage Formula FORD Car: 1600 CC Ford Cross-Flow, Hewland Mk 8 4-speed with square cut gears tranny, and is sleak, smooth and, sexy...too bad it's got an old fat fart at the wheel. My objective to to learn this beauty and to introduce my driving style to her at this event.
Sponsor: "Jackie's Money"...Car Number 64...the year I won the Lottery...Married Jackie. Now all you sensitive guys, don't tear up.

We took the Formula Ford to Hallett this past weekend, for the CVAR fall race. Here are some pictures of my fat a$$ packed into this little beauty.
I never got to run at full speed, due to clutch engagement problems, however it handles like a go kart, but it has a few hopefully simple issues that need to be sorted out. In spite of the problems with the car, we had a great time. Now I have to go and unpack and prep for the November race at TWS.
BTW, luvdablues is really piloting his beautiful GT 350 skillfully...consistantly coming in 2nd in class and fifth overall.

Cool mornings, warm afternoons. Nice time. Fun watching Larry with his new baby.
Larry's emotional gage ran full spectrum. Happy, sad, pissed, joyous, elated. Have a problem, find the problem, fix the problem, drive the car......... repeat. One of the cars previous owner was there, as was a mechanic, who threw in their 2 cents to help. Most everything was "shaken" out by Sunday afternoon, except the clutch. But he STILL beat a hand full of competitors!
Don't be impressed too much with my results. There is a twist to why I did so well. BUT, I did run my best time ever at that track. Under 1:31 during the last race. Hey Sammy, what were your times in the ERA during Mid-America?
Yep, time for 20 hours of maintenance getting ready for TWS November 13th-15th. Hey John Shelton, Ya wanna pit crew for two guys in College Station?

Way to go, Larry :D
Can't wait to see it running in person Did it bottom out on the rough surface at Hallett? In the pics it looks like about 3/4" ground clearance
Steve, no xponder at Mid-America Hallett, and most of the sessions were under the yellow flag because there were just too dam many cars on the track. Then my brakes went out and I slowed down some, 'cause of the hills .. but I feel like I was faster than 1:31 ..
Better show this year at Run N Gun .. first place overall in both road course and autoX. Also in class (Pro GT2/A). We had a ball and I wish you guys had been there. If you haven't heard, RnG next year is at Hastings and it is a must for you, Larry, jdean, and I !!!

OK Larry I did finally pick up the JBL yesterday. It looks much better in my garage then in the pics! Unlike you and your racer....I still have some work to do to get it on the road. Next major event I think I can make.......TCC Austin 2010.

Chris,
I've got to get the dash covered and wired back (it is off as we speak), work on the side pipes some, get carpet/upholstery etc. Still a while to get it on the road, dang it.
