Default Tulsa Planning (June 16-20)

TCC will have a presence as usual at the Ford Mid-America event (http://midamericafordmeet.com/). This thread is for us to post our arrangements, head counts, questions, etc. For the benefit of our newer folks, here is how it usually goes ...

The event is based at the Marriott Southern Hills Hotel in Tulsa. We usually have the southwest corner of the parking lot for the Texas CC and our rigs. This may be the case again this year if enough of us get there early and block off the space. Some usually arrive Wednesday, but most of us are travelling Thursday and should be there early afternoon.

Wednesday: early arrivals, block off the SW (Texas) corner. Impromptu tailgater ...

Thursday: Arrive, unload cars, get ready for the mass cruise from Marriott to Peoria Av. street show arond 5 pm. We typically are allowed to park in the Sonic, just have to see how it goes this time. Special traffic flow measures will be in effect, with Peoria becoming one way southbound. So we have to circle around on Riverside Dr. and arrive from the north. Also, open track all day at Hallett if you paid for that or want to go.

Friday: Open track at Hallett. Those of us running will be leaving the hotel by 7 am. Return to the hotel by 5 pm, commence TCC cookout/tailgate party, lasting until the wee hours of Sat am.

Saturday: Open track at Hallett or drag racing at Tulsa Raceway Park as you prefer. Banquet or other dinner arrangments Sat night as you wish.

Sunday: Car show at the hotel all day. Depart for home whenever ...

Friday Cookout - Yesterday at the monthly meet, there seemed to be a consensus that we should BBQ bratwurst and hot dogs as in prior years. So I will bring the Weber Kettle, charcoal, utensils for the cook (me).

We'll need, as a minimum:

Card tables (2)
Bratwurst
Hot dogs
Buns
Bread
Condiments
Beans
Relish tray
Salads (potato, cole slaw, etc.)
Chips and Salsa or dip
Cookies, brownies, etc.
Paper plates, plastic silverware
Paper towels
Trash bags, 33 gal
10'x10' canopy or two in case of weather

Please put your name next to your committment or add your own choice to the list. I don't know yet who is coming, so plan on having your own coolers with drinks. Just a WAG, I estimate we will be feeding about 30 heads. We had a lot of food left over last year, btw!

So who's going to attend this year? And who is trailering and needs rig parking?

Sam
