The officer that performs the inspection was very helpful and friendly...but he is the only officer doing inspections in E.P. I want drive my car sooooooooooooo badly.....I have driven around the cul du sac several times. T-1000 live up the hill from and he has seen me pulling into the garage and has given me that " I've got my eye on you" look.

Why are you having to have a VIN inspection? Is your car a new FFR with an MSO?

Don't need a VIN inspection. WIth an MSO you should be tagged and driving tomorrow.

I suggest just going to a different sub-courthouse, if you already went to one. No reason they should require you to do a VRT-68A (Application for Reassigned/Assigned VIN). Looks like you have your choice of the main downtown location or 3 sub-courthouse/ branches in El Paso.

My niece got her first car on day before 16th birthday. Happily went to Houston-area DPS for license. As of Sept.1, one needs to schedule appointment for driving portion and the wait can be 14-20 days. Niece wept all the way back to school, majorly disappointed with the new Texas regulations. I guess everyone is cutting back, including Texas offices.

Fortunately, only a nine day wait. "These are the longest days of my whole life!!!" she said.

I now expect everything to be less than instant with local/state/federal offices.
