Ward, not sure if your question was for me or Stoney...my fastest speed on the straight per GPS last week was 119 mph. At H2R the only "straight" is short and it's the corners that are fun...there are two kinks that can be taken at well over 90 mph. If you watch the G-meter on my video there are several turns where you can pull over 1G constant, which explains why my neck always hurts after a track day. :-)

Straight up 12 o'clock is about 88 MPH on mine. When I was starting to feel frisky, I think my top speed in select areas of the track was probably in the low 90's. My Sumitomo tires really made me slow down and ease into the curves. Hope to get something a bit stickier once I finish these tires off. |

I don't know what happened with the ZR-1. I was anticipating a point and suddenly the door opened. I was just thrilled that no one tumbled out and we all went on with our day...

Nice videos, guys. I keep hoping someday someone will have a camera mounted on one of the other cars in my run group, and I'll get to see how Mister Lister looks from an on-track perspective. No luck yet!

That would be me. Tony was letting everyone drive his car, so I was just cruising around in 4th with my leg bent about to give a point by when my knee some how hit the "door open" button, and away the door went. I wasn't going fast enough to make a difference.
A few laps later I stepped it up, and OMG that thing was a rocket ship. I swapped seats with Russell (the BOSS 302 owner) and he decided to show how it's really done. We coudn't get out of it what we though we could, but later found out we still had the traction control on in "sport" setting. If we could have figured out where that button was, Russell probably could have come close to the track record.

Steve, I'm glad I didn't run you over.:) I know you're a Ford guy and all, but surely you didn't hate it so much that you felt the need to abandon ship mid-track.:LOL:
Any idea what kind of lap times Russell was turning in it? I've tracked with a lot of Z06s but never a ZR1, and I'm very curious. |

Eric and I talked following the last session that Tony's ZR1 ran. The track record is held by another ZR1 that belongs to a member. Eric was watching from the tower with some concern for the speeds that we were obtaining just prior to the agricultural plowing along the front straight. He felt that car would have broken the record if it returned to run more that weekend.
