... so who is this really  What have you done with Jay ???

Never had a cigarette habit, gave up cigars and my pipe in '85 when the company ruled it out in the office. Can you imagine, back in the day, we'd get in a small conference room with non-smokers present and smoke cigars (and cigarettes, of course)? They had no expectation of clean air  No way I could tolerate that today ...

Congratulations, amigo! :D:D:D

Any news on when Dee will be coming home...

15 more days under your belt... Congrats and it sounds like you were really ready this time.

Improved sense of smell, yes. Food should begin to taste less bland as well... Good luck ole buddy with the improved taste buds and weathering those many friends who might light up around you.

Congratulations!

I wasn't a smoker. Copenhagen was my avenue for nicotine. I quit 8 months ago with the help of Club Cobra.

It was rough at first. It helped posting every day or 2. After a while I only posted once a week. Now I don't even remember the thread. I have to look it up.

Here it is in its glory! http://www.clubcobra.com/forums/loun...gen-today.html

According to my thread I quit 10-08-2010.

I am proud of you Jay, Good work buddy.

John McMahon 07-17-2011 07:06 AM

Congrats Jay....my last cig was June 27, 1985.

I always found around week 3 was the worst... the numerous times I tried quitting.

Way to go Jay! I kicked a 3 pack a day habit almost 20 years ago. Cold turkey. It was brutal and worth every bit of it! Hang in there!

392cobra 07-17-2011 09:59 AM

32 days non-smoking,bail money still in your pocket and no bike shorts yet.

Looking like a good day !

Bobcat 07-17-2011 10:24 AM

Congratulations ! My Dad was diagonised with all sorts of lung problems and he was a 3 pack a day smoker ... he and Mom quit cold turkey the next day ( 1957 ) . It was a bear to be around both of them for a while , but it paid off in longetivity for both of them ... 85 years old when they passed .
BTW , I have never been a smoker . The first ( and only ! ) autopsy I watched ( saw a smoker`s lungs ) convinced me to never do that !

PaulProe 07-17-2011 04:55 PM

Hang in there

Jay
Went cold turkey on a 3 pack a day habit - that was 30 years ago and I still would like to have one.

The hardest part is not starting again - although the image of Jay in tight biker shorts could push me over the edge.

Proud of you - Hang in there

Paul Proefrock

Congrats Jay. I quit in October of 03 after about 13 years of smoking. Now cigarettes seem like a crutch and a leash to me.
