Congrats Jay. 8 years for me almost now. Cravings still come up but they are very rare these days.

Congratulation Jay. Just watch out for the 40 lbs you put on and then very slowly lose. Over four years here and down to 35 lbs gain. It is defineitly worth it!

Ya done well Jay, hang in there.

Bartruff1 09-18-2011 02:49 PM

Just do it...

You can do it. I smoked for nearly 60 years and simply quit, It was so easy that I couldn't even imagine that I ever smoked or why I didn't quit years ago. Like many, I did gain 25lbs or so but it came off. If you can quit smoking, you can lose weight and you just might improve the length and quality of your life. I am very happy for you, if you fall off the horse, get back on.....

Joe Wicked 09-19-2011 05:13 AM

Yep, I fell off 2 or 3 times and then I got back up and on and made it work. After a year it really got easier.

Johnny Red won't taste the same but you will get used to the new flavor or do like I did... switch to
sour mash.:D

It's a good thing you did Jay, I hope you stay clear of them coffin nails. I sure want you to hang around for a lot longer. You're a great guy and and an even better friend.

Hersh:)

Regards, Sam

I kept burning my dick, but a buddy told me to use the other hand...

Jay been there done that 4years for me. Proud of you. The sence of smell is still hard to belive.

Zaphod B 10-13-2011 09:29 AM

Congrats to all of you who have kicked the habit.

I was a smoker for ~20 years, and have now been a non-smoker for 18 years. You're right about the sense of smell, and my sense of taste went crazy, too. I could swear that my color perception improved, too!
