forty one year affair is OVER!!!

It started during my first marriage, but I have ended it. It has been 30 days today without a smoke. If I had have known earlier that it would have been this easy after all those years I would have done it earlier:JEKYLHYDENOT!

Actually it has been relatively easy and I no longer am carrying Bail money with me in case I go postal on someone;)

The sense of smell is AWESOME.

Jay

Good going Jay !!!

I have been without for 3 yrs. and 11 months now. I sure wish I had quit sooner too.

Congratulations! it will get easier as time goes by, at some point you will wonder why you ever smoked to begin with.
It's kinda of like putting a chevy in a cobra...Why? %/

Jay,I've got one major concern now that you have quit.

You aren't going to go over the deep end and start wearing those Euro Trash skin tight shorts and start jogging are you ????

jayscobras 07-15-2011 10:33 AM

Yuck!!

Fred that's just sick!

Jay

How about one of those skin tight "Tour de France" type bicycle suits and start biking?

Excellent move! Anything to improve your health is fantastic news. Don't think you're finished on your health makeover. Think about what's next.

Congrats!

Thanksbetogod...you can do this buddy!

I stopped when we last snorted taquilla (2003). First thing I noticed is how freeking often folks fart.

lovehamr 07-15-2011 12:23 PM

Jamo;
So, before you stopped, you smelled worse than farts?

Jay, stay with it man. I lost my Mom to those things and recently had a coworker (good guy) diagnosed with lung and intestinal cancer. It's no fun.

Jamo 07-15-2011 12:32 PM

Probably, but who cares? I couldn't smell me.

redmt 07-15-2011 12:35 PM

I was doing 3 packs a day and quit cold turkey. What a mother humper! It's been about 20 years. Never looked back and now I enjoy telling my smoking buddies how bad they stink. Nothing worse than an ex-smoker.

Hotfingrs 07-15-2011 12:47 PM

Congrats Jay.....

tomh440 07-15-2011 01:07 PM

Way to go Jay! Keep it up! If my Dad were alive he would encourage you too.

Coming up on two years for me in Sept! Congrats and keep going forward!

Dennis Mosley 07-15-2011 02:20 PM

Damn Jay! You have been smoking almost as long as I've been alive:p:p:p

Congrats on ending the affair.

I started smoking when I was 16, smoked for 16 years, then quit cold turkey for 12 years...my wife smokes and she never quit, during that 12 year stint, I longed for a cig every day........then I began smoking only when drinking with friends at our monthly supper/card game, that went on for a few months, then gradually back smoking full time....about 1.5 packs a day......
I know I should quit and probably will one day for good, but right now, I still enjoy it too much...........

both my parents were smokers and dad always said the 2 worse people in the world were ex-smokers and ex-drinkers.......he was right.........

Congrats Jay! My last cig was about a decade ago. I never quit (addicts never do) but I stopped for however long it lasts. Enjoy a healthier life and spend the money you save on gas............

That is awesome Jay. I have been nicotine free for about 3.5 years now. I carried the bail money for about 1.5 years. My brother-in-law still won't talk to me. Not a really big loss.

Watchmaker 07-15-2011 04:53 PM

Nice going Jay, Congratulations. Do I need to bring you a six pack when I come to see you?
:)
