Question TCC Group Jacket

Do we have a TCC Group Jacket? I just ordered a FFROG jacket (see link below) and was wondering why we (TCC) don't have a Texas jacket.

Thumbs up I'd Buy One!

Ed,

I'd be in ordering one. I think it should have the TCC logo all over the place.

Any thought from the rest of you all>

Got it...

May I offer an alternative suggestion?

Brothers Performance Warehouse offers the below mentioned jacket for $49.95. It would be easy enough to have the TCC emblem put on the right lapel and a large version of the TCC emblem put on the back for a fairly small fee. I can check the embroidery prices if you like? Best part is, lots of sizes and colors to match your car!!! I have two of these.

"Made from great light-weight Du-pont nylon with acrylic pile lining these authentic Cobra jackets complete with embroidered Cobra and Ford patches will keep you warm and stylish at any car show or race event. Great for everyday use and perfect for men and women they are available in 5 attractive colors, medium thru XXL.

Red, Yellow, Light Blue, Black and Navy Blue."

I like the idea and would think a lot of TCC members would participate in a group purchase. I also think the blonde is pretty cute. Before we get too far into this, which TCC emblem are we considering???? There are about 4 that I know of - some images we own and some we don't. To my knowledge, we never have adopted or created an "official" TCC logo.

I don't think any of us want a repeat of the image and printing fiasco we experienced last February in Austin. Dave - if you want to take the point on this - go for it.

I would not mind at all taking point on this. My thought is the flag of Texas with Texas Cobra Club on the Front Right Lapel (see Pic) and either the emblem marked "Back" about the size of a soccer ball on the back of the jacket or the emblem used for the banner?

I can have the "Back" emblem below simplified to keep the costs down.

If anyone has a copy of the banner emblem, please email it to me.

Thoughts? Bueller???? Anyone???

Ren Man - the above image was done for the club in May 2000 by Tatoo Productions for the first run of T-shirts. I don't really think they could claim that the small image of Texas Flag and the "Texas Cobra Club" script is "artistic property" - after all it is the state flag and our name.

However, the image on the back is considered their copyright property and we can not duplicate without their permission. If there is interest obtaining the full rights to this graphic, I can check with Tatoo and see what would be involved. I think that you are on target for a soccer ball size image on the back & I would order one.

We might want to see what feedback we get from others on this deal. Thanks for taking on this little project.

Here is another TCC graphic to ponder.

Dick,
I like this flag as well. The name "Texas Cobra Club" would stand out easily on it. I was thinking of heavily modifying the one on the back to have the outline of the state of Texas with the Car and the words "Texas Cobra Club". Or, just use the state outline, cobra and same words from the TCC Banner?

I don't want to enfringe on someone's copyright.

By the way, I have two of these in large so if anyone, (when we get together) would like to try before you buy...You'll have a good idea how large a large actually is...

Thoughts???

Thumbs up

Damm; You guys are great! All it took was a little prodding.
Let's get everyone's vote and get it going. Fall is upon us and the temps are dropping. I'll take a XL Navy Blue jacket on what ever the TCC decides on.

Another thought here. With fall upon us, I can order the jackets now while I investigate the three or so companies that are sending me quotes for the embrodery. If worse came to worse everyone would at least have a Cobra Jacket?

Don't get me wrong, I'll get it done...just playing devil's advocate.

Talking Ren, count me/us in!!

Ren,
Great idea!! I will take an XL for me, & then there are the other three in the family, & I would imagine that the rest of the Dallas crowd will also chime in. Whatever amount you decide to order will be moved. No problem.
John R.
ps. Are you going to come up next weekend with Charmer to play with us at Motorsport Ranch October 5/6/7th?

I'll sure try and be there John. If I can get my hydraulic clutch working properly.

Don't forget: Cobra Jacket colors are:

"Red, Yellow, Light Blue, Black and Navy Blue".

Still need a copy of the TCC Banner Logo from someone. Please email it to me at: renaissance.man@cox-internet.com or bigwillys@cox-internet.com

I'll get the exact prices as soon as I can get the logo emailed to me.

***Dick, is it possible for you to email me the Texas Flag that you have with "Texas Cobra Club" minus your car? (no offense).

Regards,

Just some food for thought here...

We have a lot of great drawings for the TCC. The only reason I personally sway toward the one used on the TCC Banner is "Simplicity". I like the script used on the Texas Flag provided by Dick Flesher and would use that same script on the back as well. Remember, the easier it is to put on the cheaper it will be.

Just a thought...

What color Jacket Gregg??????

I'll need to know each persons size, quantity and color of jacket. I may see if it's feasible to put each person's car color on the jacket like we did for the TCC Banners??? May be cost prohibitive though... If so, what do you all think of going with a nice bright (Guardsman-type) Blue with White Stripes? Again, simplicity...and recognizable....

RE: ***Dick, is it possible for you to email me the Texas Flag that you have with "Texas Cobra Club" minus your car? (no offense).

Dave - I wish that car were mine - it is an original competition Cobra.

This Flag & Cobra image was created by a TCC member here in Dallas - Corey Mark. The guy really is unbelievable at manipulating images/graphics (I think he uses Paintshop) and created the graphic in about 5 minutes. He works for a graphic company & can do about anything we ask (he provided the TCC business cards for Austin). I think the reason he selected the silver Cobra (not my idea - I swear) was a red Cobra would blend into the red part of the Texas Flag and a blue Cobra would blend into the blue part of the Texas Flag.

Dave - give Corey a call at 214-528-0900. See what ya'll can work out. He may be able to insert blue, red, silver, black and Candy Brandy Wine Cobras onto Texas Flags. Like you say - it may cost prohibative, but does not hurt to try. Technology these days is pretty cool.

Dave - I will e-mail you the image I have so you have an original. Corey can e-mail you one minus "my car". I am so insulted

Dick,

Sorry about the insult, ha ha...

What my intention is, (if everyone agrees) is to use the flag of Texas minus any car with "Texas Cobra Club" as written on the front. On the back, an "Outline of the state of Texas" with a profile of a cobra (preferably your cobra color, if not then a single color for all) and the same font stating, "Texas Cobra Club". This emblem on the back would be about the size of a scoccer ball.

Ren Man

Thanks for the tip, I'll call Corey.
