Cruise, Lake Murray run is 202 miles from Ponder round trip, we can go on up to Turner Falls, fantastic run, and add about another 80 miles; being this close and the roads and country side to be enjoyed it would be a shame to not add this extra hour or so...what you think....???

hey Gary,
how about a launch point => meeting location / time and possible route to Ponder for the folks on the dallas/Plano/Allen/Mckinney areas.

There are lots of ways to get there, 114 via DFW Way (mostly highway) or even perhaps via 35 N to 1171 through Lewisville, flower mound etc. Thoughts?
Francis

I am oncall for work this weekend and will not be able to do the cruise. Basically my rule of thumb is I can be no more than 1 hour from my house. Even in the Cobra, Lake Murray is a little out of bounds. If I am not working, I plan to make the Ponder run. Let me know if anyone wants to meet up and caravan as Francis suggested.

I want to meet up and cruise with y'all but we should stay away from 114. Ton of construction and it is race weekend. Today it took me 30 min to get from DFW airport to the 121/114 split. only a couple of miles, but it was a parking lot.

I am out. I plan to spend Sat finishing up the new rear end install. I may get to test it Sunday if everything goes ok.

I'm gonna have to pass on this one, guys! I think you're crazy to go anywhere near TMS this weekend. All of it sounded great....just the wrong weekend. There is supposed to be near a half million people in that area.

Hey Ray,

A couple of us not going to Ponder are going to meet at the Brickhouse in Plano for lunch at 10:45am if you are interested in coming over here. I think I'm going to run by Cars & Coffee for a cup of Jo first then to the Brickhouse. Anyone else not going to Ponder swing by the Brickhouse.....

Ray,
The Nationwide race on Saturday is not the overcrowded one. By the route we are taking and the time, we should avoid all traffic.

Gary, although I wussed out a little early (rattle that turned out to be a nonevent), this was a good trip. Ponder steakhouse did indeed have the best chicken fried steak. Muenster was a pleasant surprise -- a main street car show and live band. Who knew? No traffic. Ray? I hope Lake Murray was good for the balance of the group. Gary, thank you for organizing. Larry

Great cruise! Lake Murray right now is a great fall foliage tour, about as good as it gets in these parts. Winding roads through the trees with leaves blowing around in your wake. I would go do again today if I could!

Damn, what a day to miss out on. It looked like a beautiful day, sounded like a great time, and a great cruise. I haven't made that Lake Murray trip.
Mother nature wins everytime...she put me down with a nasty 48 hour bug. Upside is I lost at least 5 pounds. lol
Next time for sure.
Hey Bwana - what happened to the Country Tavern trip? December maybe????
