Fall Event Nov. 10 Part 2
hey guys
still staying real busy, but a little more info on the event here in corpus. because of the attack on the wtc the navy has closed the airfield (where the race track is located) to all civilians. it doesn't appear that it will be available nov. 10. plan b. i've made arrangements with a local ford dealer for an "all car show and shine"with the TEXAS COBRA CLUB being the star attractions. so the game plan now is for all those interested in attending to meet at the dealership between 9 to 1. we can visit and tell stories, especially how fast our cars are, and relax. the afternoon would then include the cruise around the bay, with a couple of stops for pictures, etc. and the lunch/supper at one of our seafood resturants. the evening could include visits to the LEXINGTON (ww II aircraft carrier) and or a trip on our casino cruise ship for those that like to gamble. just a rough idea. if you like to drive your cobra and and site see, this could be a great trip. last year there were 5 cobra's that made the event. i'd like to see that many or more this year. start giving me some feedback and i'll provide more details in the next couple of weeks.

ps i made the circuit around the bay sunday, and what a beautiful day it was. crossing on the ferry was a little slow, due to traffic, but gave all the spectators more time to admire the car.

SOrry Paul I won't be able to make it this year. We have to move our datacenter in Arkansas that weekend and I am in charge of it.
Have fun and next year I am in.

Hey Paul,
I should be there. Will you have an open seat in your car? I finally ordered mine, it'll be here December 10th-11th. I'd like to see the car you guys just finished ... I need to find someone to paint mine.

hey ryan,
i will have an open seat. the car i just finished i think is still at lone star unless its already been sold. right now i'm finishing one with a shelby 427 motor in it and i hope to deliver this weekend. after that i need to get back on my dads model t. i do have a painter and he should be at our show and shine. he's good! should be a variety of cars. i'm happy that cammer is coming back. your engine sounds soooo good. i'll update periodically. if any of you are going to need race gas-the cruise, etc. is about 60 miles- let me know ahead of time and i'll try to have up to 50 gallons available. for storage overnight i should have room in my shop for 3 or 4 cars. first come first serve.

The Houston club is meeting tomorrow (Saturday). I will talk it up. Dennis wants to go, but he has to sell some tickets he inadvertantly bought for that weekend. Surely Stretch will not miss a chance to show off his new ride.

We had a fun event in Houston Saturday. We may have convinced another Cobra owner or two to go to Corpus with us. Chad and his wife are expecting a new addition to their family that weekend and... well let's just say his wife is very narrow minded about him going to Corpus.

Ok guys, I am starting to sweat. No only do I have to try and sell the tickets, I have to explain to a certian young lady why I am ditching her to go hang out with you guys. I'm now quite sure I can pull this one off but I'm going to book a room tomorrow anyway just in case.
I really got to see Charmers car.
Wish me luck

Houston Caravan
We are going to Corpus Friday afternoon or early evening. "We" meaning Dwight and Judy Murray in their car, Our car containing Jim, Gail, Matt, and one of Matt's friends with Cobra in tow. It would be fun to meet any others who are going from Houston or passing through.

hey guys
just an update and i need some feedback. the ramada inn is offering the best rates of any hotel on the bayfront at $68. see above for details. i will be at my shop friday night for any that are coming in early. details next week. the show will be from 9-1 saturday the 10th and the cruise will follow. i will leave from my shop around 8:30 for those that want to convoy to the show and shine. we will cruise from the show and shine to rockport for seafood, and then continue our cruise. we will end up at the carrier lexington back in corpus. i need to know if anyone wants to tour the lexington, so that i can ask for reservations. also, does anyone want to go on the casino cruise ship saturday night. it leaves ingleside at 7 pm. if anyone is going to need race gas, let me know so that i can have it available. i'm guessing that it will be around $4.00 a gallon. we will be driving somewhere around 70-90 miles total. let me know what you guys would like to do. details, directions and itinerary will be posted next week.

Looks like it's a no go for Corpus for me. My lady friend seemed very disappointed when I tried to get out of the other event. So this time I think I will have to take a pass.

hey guys
ok, looks like no cruise on the gambling ship-or at least you are on your own if you want to. come on dennis, you are my 12th man! i hope you can work things out to make the trip, but if not i understand. since this thread is now on page two, wednesday i will post a new thread with all the details. right now the weather looks good for the weekend-but you know what they say in texas. other than dee in austin and matt in dallas i haven't heard from any of the other guys. regardless, for those making the trip we will have a mix of cars from other area car clubs plus however many of the cobra group that show up. if you guys can, give me an idea after wednesday's post on who will be here. have a good week everyone and i look forward to seeing some of you this weekend.
