Question So you think you're fast....

Sometimes my vintage race club buddies and I think we know how to drive fast. Then I had the opportunity to run against a GT driver in May. He smoked me.

Now, let's put this in perspective..........
Speed Comparison: GT vs. F1 racing cars. [VIDEO]

Kind of humbling. Hold out for next year. I've heard that they're going to reduce the rpm limit on the F1 cars by 3000 rpm. Down from 18000 to 15000.

That's what I heard. But you know the engine constructors will figure out how to boost the torque in the mid range and then exiting the corners will be incredible.

So fast, I couldn't look far enough ahead, let alone turn the wheel fast enough. These guys (driver, engineers and crews) are from a different planet.

They might be lowering the RPM, but they are adding turbos and electrics to it. They will probably be even faster, if that is possible. I would sure love to pull the trigger on one of them. Even a back marker would be a blast.

Big changes from 2.4L v8 to turbocharged 1.6L v6. They are concerned that fans will not like the exhaust note off the turbocharger.

Default Wow!

I didn't realize that Hot Air Baloons were that fast either (next video) or that one could jump rope while riding a unicycle ( next video). Remarkable video comparison on the F-1 vs GT speed comparison.
