Question Buying my first

Well, it has finnally happened. I have finally finished a year of research, and saving, and begging the wife. I plan on ordering my kit in the next week or two, (I wonder if inventory tax is of any concern for any of the manufacturers?)

Anyway, just wanted to say hey from Colleyville, Tx in the great DFW metroplex! I'd like to hear any pointers from you guys on what to do not to do. I'm strongly leaning towards the LS427 Comp kit. Main reason is they are 25 min drive from my house!! plan on stroking a 351W and just havin' loads of FUN!

Welcome to the Club. You should come to our Meeting that we have each month or try and make the Christmas party to meet everyone.

There are several in the group that have great Lone Stars (Mr. Woodard) and I am sure lots of people can give you pointers (just stay away from Tom )

Matt

Thanks Matt,

I'll be sure to watch out for Tom

When is the next meeting? When and where is the Christmas Party? Does anyone bring the wife along to the meetings?

Hey Greg,

Welcome to the Club. I have a LS 427 comp car, you may have seen it as it is one of the cars in Lone Star's ad. I live on the other side of the metroplex than you but any time you like I would be glad to show you the car and point out a few tips for building a Lone Star.

Congrats on your new baby - let the fun begin.

John

Default Stay away from Tom!!

Tom is a baaaaa aaaad man.

Welcome to the club. We all try to bring our sweet wives to these gatherings. They are always welcome, just keep her away from Tom. Look under the Party Party post and follow the lead. See ya there.

Thumbs up new build

Hey great choice. I just finished my LS427 last July and it turned out great. Working with LoneStar was very easy. The guys out thier were very helpful. I did an inhouse build and built my car start to finish in three months. It's currently in Kit Car Illistrated in the LoneStar artical. Teh car was not hard to build however I did have the technical experts right at hand. I've entered it in a half dozen car shows and have won 4 first place trophies. Lots of fun. Get back with me when you start and if I can be of any help let me know. The experience was wonderful
Have a great time.

Mike

Thanks John, I'd LOVE to see your car and visit with you. At the risk of much pain, I have to admit, I've never even ridden it one of these baby's...no kidding, I've loved them all my life though.

Who is this mysterious Tom guy...sounds like I'd like him...I never have been too good at staying outta trouble, kinda boring if you do....

Hey, thanks for the invite for the Christmas Party, but we have a shin-dig here at the house that night ourselves and we can't make it. Now, the next Saturday, the 15th, we are having our annual Christmas bash, (last year, we had about 140 people!!) Love to have a couple of Snakes come rumblin' into the neighborhood... Email me at thepidler@attbi.com if you got nothin better to do, the bartender will fix ya right up!

I would like to make the next meeting though, I'll keep my eyes peeled for a place/date/time.

Default That/s a nice looking Unique

Beautiful car! Looks like it was done well with all the goodies. I would even get to drop in my stroked 351W with a shot of go gas... it is tempting, but ThePidler is looking forward to building one, (and I'm particular to the Ford 9")

Sorry!!

greg
