Default First Houston Meet of 2002

Hi everyone,

I hope your holidays were great! Mine sure were. Now it's time to get together for our first meet of the year.

Date will be Jan 19 which is the 3rd Saturday of the month.

We will talk about the upcomming TCC meet in Austin and make plans for our convoy (trailered cobras welcome ) over to Austin on Feb 22. I plan on showing the video of the first years meet.

Let's meet at the Captain's Seafood located on beltway 8 just south of Westeimer.

Remember this is rain or shine. Let's get this year off to a great start.

respond here if you plan to make it to the gathering.

By the way, check out Houston member, Rocky Keyes' cobra in the January issue of Kit Car. AWSOME!!!!!

Dennis, I will try to make it to the January meet but I can't make the February meet. We are having a 50th wedding anniversary party for my parents on that week-end.

Did you get your car running again? What was the problems? Hopefully nothing too serious.

I drove out to the track in Hitchcock last Saturday to see if I could get some contact info so we could take our cars out there for a day. There is no numbers anywhere but I did take the Cobra around the track for a few laps. It was FUN!!!!! Power sliding around corners, hitting 90 mph on staight aways, ARGGGG!!!!. The track is small and short but still a lot of fun. Last year at the new car show, I ran into a man that runs a driving school on that track, I will try to find him again and get some info for us. Jim had asked me to get some info and maybe we could meet there one day and run our Cobras. Sound like a fun idea. I will provide more info as I get it.

Happy New Year!

Randy (LS427SC)

Where do y'all meet ? I've got a date and time but I don't know where. I don't have a car yet but I'm in the planning stages and an absolute Cobra nut. I'd like to see the different cars and talk with y'all. Thanks

I'll probably be there for the first time. Cobra's not finished yet, so weather permitting, should I drive 69 Cobra Jet Cougar or 63 Galaxie? Decisions, decisions. What are best directions from Beaumont? Looking forward to meeting y'all. Later, David Shelton.

Hey KountzeCobra,
Beltway 8 is the toll road around the outskirts of Houston. Westheimer is on the southwest side of town. Probably best to come down Hwy. 59 until the south side of the belt way and then hang a right on the beltway. Only a few miles to Westheimer from Hwy. 59 and Beltway 8. Perhaps you could look it up on one of those map things on the internet. I am sure they will give better directions than mine. Looking forward to seeing ya there!

Randy

PS. Somebody bringing a tow strap for Dennis? Just kidding Dennis! (LOL)
