Always trying to follow and hopefully learn from these mishaps, my unscientific conclusion is that an awful lot of Cobra crashes are during a passing maneuver combined with a bit of showing off. Hope everyone is ok.

When I clicked on the link, the news site has the weather for Sherman, TX up in the corner. A low of 8 degrees and a high of 26 degrees -- even "medium fast" moves with icy cold tires on your Cobra can go bad very, very quickly.

True. I've found it scarily easy to break them loose on cold days.

True that!
You have cold tires and pavement compromising traction, and I did the math in my head one day, and going from 90 degrees to 40 degrees give you 15% denser air (IIRC) hence 15% more torque. Bad combination.

Most of us are likely using summer tires. Mine are not any good below 50 if I push it a little.
