Question For Snakeeyes

Snakeeyes,

It appears there may be some Ferraris for sale in your area sometime in the not-to-distant future - Mell Spillman's. (sp) Do you know what is in his collection - anything exceptional?

Dave, a while back I spoke to a friend who has way more $$ than me. The local Ferrari dealer had several of the Spilman cars and was trying to get him to buy one/some/all of them. I don't recall much about his description of them other than he was singularly unimpressed. I think he mentioned an Eighty-something Testarossa and an early Eighties Can Am car (from the reborn series which used rebodied F5000 cars--not a Ferrari, obviously). I think he also said there was a 308 with some kind of 288 GTO body kit on it. I can't recall what else he mentioned in terms of specific cars. I did see a grainy photo in the newspaper the day they seized the cars, and had the distinct impression that at least one of the "Ferraris" was an Acura NSX.

I purchased a couple Ferrari magnets and a clock on e-bay from some Dr. in Chicago and that is as close as I will ever get to owning a Ferrari. Actually I just wanted to be 100% certain that you knew about the "collection" since Cal says you are a collector of sorts.

From the article in the Dallas Morning News, you would have thought he had one of the best Ferrari collections.
