Talking New Cobra owner needs mechanic

I'm a proud new owner of a lighly used Lone Star Classics Cobra with a true 427 side oiler engine. The car was driven at altitude in Utah, so I'll likely need to have it tuned for Texas air. Any suggestions on an expert or very good mechanic in the Dallas area?

Thanks,

Matt Longhofer

Matt,

You might want to get in contact with James Patterson at Norwood Performance. They are a very high-end performance shop located off Spur 482 and NW Hwy just North of Texas Stadium.

They specialize in Ferraris and HORSEPOWER. If you make it over there have James show you their new Norwood Drag Car (a 4 cylinder pushing over 4400 HP).

My understanding is years ago they were involved in distributing and manufacturing the Contemporary Cobras here in Dallas.

My car is current there now and I am pleased with the job they are doing. You can reach James at 972-831-8111.

James is also offering allow members of the Club to come in and DYNO there cars on May 11, 2002. You can check the forum for more information on the Dallas Dyno Day.

Good Luck...

Thanks for the information. I'll check with James and put the DYNO day on my calendar.

Congratulations! Sounds like you have a fairly minor jet and timing adjustment ahead of you. There is a guy at the American Service Station in Valley Ranch (635 and MacArthur) who grew up in a carb shop. From what I hear, he is pretty good. I don't know his name but I am sure they will all know who you are looking for if you call.

Good luck!

Thumbs up E.T. Automotive

Matt - here is another suggestion - Earnie at E.T. Automotive - 214-503-1705. They specialize in high performance cars and my car goes in next week for a look at my clutch. He has done work for several TCC members and that is where I received the recommendation. Earnie is a no BS kind of guy...shop is in Garland near Plano Road and Miller.
