Pro 5.0 shifter install
Almost done with my Pro 5.0 shifter install. After opening the UPS box today, I wondered if I should install it in the car or hang it on the wall as a piece of art. Wow, what a solid base and the shifting is incredibly firm. I have a Tremec TKO and after 3400 miles or so, I thought it was time for an upgrade.
The Pro 5.0 has adjustable stops which prevent possible internal trans damage on hard shifts. My stock assembly had a crude stop system, but there was just too much flex. The new shifter is advertised to shorten the throw of the shift, but I'm keeping the longer, original shifter for looks so I'm not sure how much the throw will be reduced.
Anyway, I'll have the install done tomorrow night. It's taken longer than I thought as I had to remove the trans tunnel to remove the old base. I did some practice shifts in it tonight and am I impressed.
Just thought I'd pass along a little testimonial for anyone considering the same swap.
