New Backdraft on the way to Texas.
Hey guys. Looks like I did it. I've got a maroon/silver Backdraft on the way. Reg, the company owner may attend the Austin gathering and he will bring my car to me if he does.
If anyone is wondering, it is a really nice car. Great quality. I'd compare it to any factory built car I've seen.

Boudy,
Congrats on the new BDR. you are going to love that car. i have #8 in a very similar color and it is great. the color stands out in a croud of other cobras and the chickies just love it. Reg is a great guy and really loves his work. what motor did you put in it and did you get the 17" wheel option (well worth it).

Thanks. I got the 15's and I don't know what engine I'm going to put in it yet. I need to decide so I can order me a shortblock on Monday. I was thinking about a 400 hp 302 for drivability with the 15's. I'll take suggestions.

Congratulations, Boudy!!
Congratulations on your plunge, Boudy! I hope everythings goes together in time for you to get the car in Austin, but I am just glad you "got the car" whether you make Austin or not! You might think about a 351 Windsor base over the 302, but whatever you choose you should be happy just as soon as you can start logging some seat time.
Why don't you come join us for breakfast on Feb.1st and tell us about the car?
Welcome,
John Russell

George: My car is a lighter shade of maroon. I don't know the code. Reg had 4 Blues(various shades), 2 blacks, 1 silver, and two maroons on hand. The darker maroon was nicer but was getting a motor for turn-key delivery. I like blue also but I think the numbers speak for themselves.
John: Speaking of numbers, the 351 yeilds about 40% rear and I know my race car is a boat until I get it up to about 48% or so. I'd love to drive both on the track but I won't get the chance.
We all like the cubes but I don't know how the percentages effect these cars. Anyone?
BTW: I'll be present on the 1st.

I found everything I needed to know on the treads.
My car is being brought to Austin for show-&-tell and then delivered to me in DFW.

hey Boudy,
Looks like you had a ride all along and did not know it.
Blown 350
Skateborad
race seat
Race tires
Oh yea, and a helmet gotta have a helmet.
BTW: Welcome, Fordnut (like most of us). Go to the link & sign up for Austin. It is a fun trip that won't cost you a lot of money, uh unless you blow something up that is! Welcome to Texas Cobra Club. Oh and watch out for that Tom guy, oh and Dennis to. In fact watch out for all the BALD guys & you'll do fine. haha
Not very often I get Tom and Dennis at the same time!

42#: It's a claimer from my IMCA dirt days. Great motor but it's on its last cycle, bored to the max and crank is 20/20. Cast 400 crank, 461 heads and cheap rods. Built to be claimed, you don't want it.
Steve: Blown 350 means its got a hole in the side. Your hearts in the right place buddy. Thanks.
