Got me on that one.

4RE KLR 04-12-2003 03:57 PM

Anyone have a guess?

4RE KLR 04-14-2003 07:26 AM

Dick
We cannot figure this one out, so give us the answer and put up a new question.

If not I will post a new question on Tuesday morning.

4RE KLR 04-14-2003 04:15 PM

Ok

I will consider that one a pass, since we got no correct answer and Dick has not yet posted the correct answer.

So Indeed a new question.

At our Feb Event in Austin, THIS year, Someone had a Cobra there that had no engine in it. That is correct no engine. It was a new Cobra brought to Austin to be delivered as a roller, less engine. The car was only in the parking lot for about one minute and put back into a different trailer.

The question is who took delivery of there new Cobra at the TCC event this year. Real name or CC name will do.

The person that I am speaking of, please do not answer this question. Lets see how many people other than the ones that helped you move the car knows about the car.

jwoodard 04-14-2003 04:58 PM

I know....

It was Boudy - Robert Boudreaux! He took delivery of a Backdraft Cobra.

OK Dick, I'll answer yours!

OK Dick,
Here's the correct answer. Drew started and finished in the same clothes because his bag was in your Jeep, and we forgot to get it out when we got to Austin. When you left early, the bag, and clothes went with you.
I believe the "locked door -oops!!" has already been discussed.
Now, Steve, I believe the Cobra with no engine was a Backdraft, but the owner's name escapes me, but I believe he is from Austin. Shoot, I will probably remember right after I post this reply.
Good thread, Stevie!
John R.

4RE KLR 04-16-2003 07:18 AM

Jim Woodard is correct and well so is John Russell

Robert took delivery of a New and Beautiful Backdraft cobra in Austin at this years event.

As for Dick's question. That is too funny I had not heard the story of Drew being locked out. Sorry Drew but looking back even you have to admit its fuuny.

Next Question:

We have fellow Club Members in Austin, Dee And Jacquie Walters (SP) That have a MONSTER Cammer motor in thier cobra. Hense the CC name "Cammer"

Question:

Where did Dee first find out about the Cammer motor?

Dee, Please do not answer this question.

Boudy 04-16-2003 08:41 PM

Hey, thanks Jim. You spelled Boudreaux correctly. That doesn't happen too often. Hell I just got a good handle on it recently myself.:D :D

Boudy

4RE KLR 04-17-2003 06:46 AM

Any takers on the Cammer Question?

Come on guys give it a shot.

Hint: This is a RARE engine, where would you look to find things that are not on the shelf at your local auto parts store.

I know Dee found it somewhere up north I believe...the guy had it forever and was going to use it...had it up for sale and had alot of people trying to buy it...guy sold it to Dee because he said it was better in a Cobra than a street rod.

Don't know where he found it for sale though.

Matt

4RE KLR 04-17-2003 08:33 AM

chalk another one up for James Baldwin

Hemmings is where Dee found the Monster Cammer Motor. And on a side note when he saw it in the magazine he did not know what a Cammer was (neither did I) and had to do some homework. Now if my knowledge and rememberance is any good (correct me if I am wrong Dee) But the guy, up north, that owned it was going going to put it into an ERA. When he ran the add in the Mag another fellow had inquired about it as well to put into a street rod. When Dee told him he wanted to put it into an ERA Cobra the guy decided to sell it to Dee and stated "This motor belongs in a Cobra"

That is as close as I can remember to the story.

Next Question:

In our Texas Triatholon we had a couple of years ago, maybe three years now, We had someone drive an awfull long way to run their Cobra car in the Triatholon. Jay Nordstrom awarded this person a door prize for traveling the farthest distance to our event.

The question is, What was this persons name. I will take a name or the State from which the Cobra was DRIVEN from as a winner. A bonus would be what was awarded as a door prize. This is a pretty hard one I think so I have given several real good hints here. I will take the persons name or State as a correct answer.

HINT:
It was NOT DV. Who drove all the way from Ohio.
It was NOT Doug Reed either.

I had to get help from Jay on the correct answer to this Question, so Jay, this one excludes you, because I know you know the Correct answer. And Thanks

jayscobras 04-17-2003 02:10 PM

SHUCKS!!!!!

OKAY I WON'T TELL:3DSMILE:

AND BY THE WAY, THE VERY FIRST COBRA ON TOP OF THE ORIGIN PARKING GARAGE, YEAR ONE WAS MINE:D

GOOD LUCK GUYS, THIS IS A GOOD QUESTION. DREW SHOULD REMEMBER THIS BECAUSE THAT WAS WHEN HIS FIRST SPF CAR WAS DELIVERED BY DOUG REED.

AND THAT WAS MARCH 24-26, 2000. BOY WHERE HAS THE TIME GONE:CRY:

JAY

James Baldwin 04-17-2003 02:59 PM

WD - Tennessee

jwoodard 04-17-2003 03:15 PM

His name is right on .........

the tip of my tongue.:( I know he had a Factory Five and drove in from Rhode Island, Maine or Massachusettes or somewhere way up there on the East Coast. Just can't remember his name right now.

Jim:3DSMILE: :3DSMILE: :3DSMILE:

4RE KLR 04-17-2003 06:49 PM

Dangit Jim,

Since I said I would take a name or a state I guess you got it right in your hypothosis. I think, I may ride this one a bit more.

You are correct that his car was driven down to Texas the week it was completed from MAIN. Talk about a break in drive. And Jay told me the kit but I can't remember. So Jay you can tell us more about the car.

Does anyone know his name or the prize for driving the farthest distance? And Jay I still know, you know these answers.

Another hint: The prize came from Enzo and Paula @ Finishline and was VERY EXPENSIVE!
