Upper Rear shock mount LSClassic

Now I'm dissappointed. The rear shock mounts on my frame are not even. The driver side sticks up 3 1/2" from the crossmember while the pass. side sticks up 4". I think that if not corrected the car will lean to one side. Any other of you lonestar builders run into this? I didn't notice this until I got ready to install my 8.8 differential. Remember the patience I was learning well its big league now.

Sorry to hear that man.

I thought my weekend of drilling out holes that were either punched to small or crooked was bad. I'd get Dennis on the horn tomorrow and see what gives. Fixing this could be a real pain. I can't think of a reason to have set up that way. If you adjust the height of the coilovers would that work or make one side too stiff?

What it would do depends on, are the top and bottom BOTH off? Just the top? BR, that's a light kit, no? I can measure mine for you but it's a Comp kit.

The shock mount problem was remedied. I called LoneStar tech dept. and they sure have some sharp people over there. Thats why I chose LoneStar not only for the product but they stand behind you all the way through. Thanks again LoneStar. Pat Jones.

Glad you got your problem worked out. They are good people at LoneStar. I am kind of curious though, how did it get fixed?

Glad to hear you have a solution.

The folks at Lone Star are sharp and very helpful. I think we're are going to very happy with the cars when they're finished. Just remain patient.

same thing from a different angle. I have also ordered a drive shaft hoop from summit. It goes completely around the drive shaft and will prevent it from dropping like what happened to that FFR last week.

Note how many spacers it takes at the bottom shock mount. Those spacers come in all different widths and be sure to use as amny as possible.

If you are using a Currie TSD rear end be sure to add a bottle of this stuff. Otherwise your diff will expire in about 5 miles (or so they tell me).

Great idea adding the drive shaft loop. You may want to make sure those lines running in the top of the tunnel are out of reach of the drive shaft if it decides to go balistic. Wouldn't want that thing flailing around in a gas bath.

Thanks for the pics. I'll add these to my manual, they'er better that what's there now. They will be a big help.

Boy seeing yours this far into the build makes me want to take off work a week and hit mine hard. Oh well patients grasshopper.

I thought about the driveline loop as well. I check the one from Summit. I was thinking about adding a bottom portion to the half loop on the frame. Do you think this would not be strong enough or in the wrong place?
