Went for my first 'mini-cruise' today up to Georgetown (swang by and talked to David at Nona's), about 25 miles in total. Up until now I've had a flunky C&L MAF messing up the performance of the motor, but I threw the stock MAF back on & I've finally been able to get on it. All I can say is GOD BLESS POWER TO WEIGHT RATIO!

This Cobra flies (not that I ever broke the speed limit mind you ). I had a '98 SVT Cobra with a Vortech on it putting down 460HP at the rear wheels and with a normally aspirated version of the same engine, the FFR is faster. I've done a few tweaks to this motor that should get it to (knock on wood) 300 - 315 at the wheels. Its nothing compared to some of you guys with the monster big blocks, but I have zero traction in the first two gears as it is so I don't know how you guys are getting any of the power to the pavement.

Going down the road is great, but I guess I have the old shocks that 'whistle' when going over bumps. Is there a fix for this?

I've got a couple rattles that I have to find but in general the car feels solid. It does like to jump around when the road is a little rutted, but nothing that can't be handled by keeping your hand on the wheel.

It was pretty windy when I was driving and I about lost my hat a couple times, but the wind wings really do a good job & now that I've driven it I would for sure buy them again.

Lets see, what else? Lots of waves from people of all shapes, sizes & ages. The car is just in primer too, it will probably cause accidents once its painted!

What a blast today. Sun shine, great weather & a back-road cruise. Can't wait for the paint and to wrap us some of the loose ends!

Yep my FFR needs two hands when on a rutted road. If you need a painter let me know. With your Cobra on the road we now have three Cobras in Round Rock that I know of.

It is always good to read about another new car hitting the roads, and we can never get enough cars in the club! Congratulations! I can't wait to see it in February!

Ed,

You should look at the toe-in and check the ride height to eliminate any bump steer. ( The toe-in should be set to minimum specs. ) Both can cause the steering to feel squeamish on rough or rutted roads

It was great seeing you on the road yesterday! Thanks for dropping by "Nonna's" as I rarely get out of there! The 4.6L looks great in the FFR! You'll have a lot of fun. I really like the "passive anti-theft" with the resistor key and push button start! Really sweet !!!!

Next time you guys are ready for a TCC meet at Nonna's, I now have the pizza's going and pasta!!!!!

As to how do I get traction? Have great traction with my 9 inch Ford pattern Strange Engineering posi center section and 33 spline SE axles, and sticky Pirelli P-Zero tires, almost a foot wide in the back.. you still gotta watch it at slower speeds when you "put your foot in there"...

As for traction, I have 315's out back and I'm only running 24psi. Maybe my Summo's aren't as sticky as the p0's, but I've run these on other cars and have had good results. The worst we're the Dunlop 8000's, those we're like sponge rubber.

Ed, Now you know why I got Nitto's on my rears. Mike had the same problems getting my FFR to stick on the road. Glad to hear that your finally on the road. Give me a call when you want to do some Hill Country cruising.
