VERY nice. But $93,000!

Hay Carumba!! Is that for the price or the car? I know what my answer would be.
Same as always, nice product but in this case a replica 350 for 93K? %/ Suckers line up at my right because I have some prime swamp front property to sell in Florida. Heck, for people that stupid I'll sell the same property in IOWA! |
Nice car and well executed, although, I probably don't need the GPS system or the Shelby name. Half the quoted price seems like what it should cost.

Similarly pricy Shelby continuation GT500's (built on vintage frames) have been availble for awhile at Sanderson Marketing in Texas:

With the advent of Elanore, supplies of restorable 67s & 68s are going to dry up. I guess we're going to lose 65s & 66s now too. :(
It is a nice looking car though, but about half its asking price seems about right. |
The Eleanor just doesn't do it for me. But the 350 SR looks great! I'd drive one in a heart beat, but not at that price.

A very nice car and I would like to have one but I think it is way over priced also. Is the Shelby name really worth $50,000 on this car?
Ron  |
BW,
I thought "unleases" might be your typo but I see Unique Performance used the same term. Does this mean they're not going to lease them anymore? ;) And ninety-three thousand bucks! Is that the lease price or the unlease price or the sale price or what? |

LURK: Sanderson Sales and Unique Performance are joined at the hip... UP's "new" manufacturing facilities are adjoined to Sanderson Sales office. |
What typo?

You guys Missed One
Hey,
What about the Super Snake GT500E? I can't figure out if it's more '66 or '67. No matter, the hood doesn't cut it in my pocket book. A steal @ $150K    TL :MECOOL: |
Charging a premium to bolt on parts in the 60s was pretty slick, and pulling the same stunt again 40 years later on the same cars! What a concept if it works.
Gotta hand it to him, if people are willing to fall prey and pay it, they deserve to be taken. What's even more hilarious are the people at auctions that get caught up in the hype and pay $140k for cars like this. Parts are parts, engines are engines, paint is paint, and wheels are wheels - especially when you can buy the same stuff over the counter and finish it as well or nicer for 1/3 the price or better. :) Goin out with a Bang! |

Lowell, I wonder how many they let you buy at that ridiculously low price..:D |

If you were to do it yourself at one third the price, then it wouldn't be "real". Or is the "real" one just a replica of a real one too? I am so confused !!!   Paul |
I wonder what it WOULD cost assuming you have to "farm out" most of the work. A similiar situation as if you were to "buy" one off the lot.
COULD a guy have that done, it that way, for $50K. I'm guessing not without GREAT contacts in the business. OK,,,,,,,do most of the work yourself, what WOULD that cost? Ernie |
No thanks...i'll keep my 66. 93k is ridiculous.
|
A good friend of mine just finished almost the exact same car, exact same high $$$ lay-down rear suspension, etc, nicer motor, same subframe/bracing - susp from Total Control here in Sacramento... Blue and all. Farmed out 95% of the work too. His car is actually a bit NICER, and it was completed, for under $20K. Done!. Okay, he did get the 65/66 shell for cheap, so maybe others would need to add another $5k if you have pay too much for the shell, doors, etc.
BTW: I'm certain he would sell it for $50K minus the marketing and save someone $43K. If there are any takers, I'd be glad to pass it along. Heck, send me an email tonight! He wants to sell the car to buy a replica Cobra, go figure! Hehehehe. Parts are parts, and it does not take special contacts to build one of these with a nice clean 65/66 shell to start with. It won't be long before these start getting cloned too. More replicas of replicas of replicas. 3rd Generation Replicas! |
I wonder if the $150,000 bid at the Barrett Jackson auction for "Eleanor" was real or whether it was done by a "friend" of the company for PR purposes and to establish a market price?
