Inspection victory!!!!
The first place I went to gave me a hassle first on the windshield wipers , which i handled. It was when they suggested that I lengthened the side pipes to get them to go past the passenger compartment that I said enough was enough.
Then I went to a shell quick lube place that Ed Hubbard suggested. Everything went smooth.
I will be going to the georgetown tax office tomorrow for my tags and plates. Wish me well.

Congratulations Mike!
Glad to see you got it inspected, now if you can get it registered without the hassle that I had you will be home free!
Regards,
Terry

I have all my paperwork and cash in hand. I hope I don't run into issues like you did Falcon65. Wish me well.

Most Ford and LM Dealers have State Inspection sites also and you'll find the Ford Techs love Cobras and send them through pretty quickly!

Mike,
What was the issue you had with the wipers? Do you not have them on your Cobra?
John

It do rain in Texas from time to time. Windshield wipers, a top, and sidewindows are nice to have readily accessable in the trunk. Oh, yes; and a bridge underpass that you can pull under to keep dry while you install this (or wait out the rainstorm) is nice to have also.
(Virginia State Troopers have had good laughs at my expense watching me go through the the top and sidewindow install sequence under a bridge during a thunderstorm.)

Mike,
That's Awesome! Keep us posted & be sure to use the pages out of the TX legal manual that they will pull out. I printed copies & brought with me, pointed to the section that read the 'right' way after they tried to point to the section that read the 'wrong' way. I walked out poorer for the taxes, but with the tags I was after!

Ed, my taxes were only $828. The guy I dealt with only taxed my FFR invoice.

Then again thats all I gave him. He didn't even ask for any of my pencil tracings off my motor, body and frame.
He even showed me a picture in his desk drawer. It was a kit car his neighbor had.
By the way his name is Joseph and he is at the new Airport Street locatoin.
