Spring Meet Support Vehicles

Every Spring Meet we have had several Cobra break downs. Every year our Cobra attendance increases.

We need volunteers to follow the Cobras with trucks with open trailers, tools, compressed air, etc..

Does anyone remember how many emergency vehicles we had last year?

Stretch told me he might have his mechanic friend follow the Cobras.

Let's open this post up for suggestions and volunteers.

I think there was 3. However, we were 1 short. I ran with Dick's trailer, Cory Hess ran a trailer and I think there was another.

I'm running support again this year with my trailer. We also had a communication problem last year. I'd like to include cell numbers to all the support teams in the welcome pack. That way, nobody gets stranded or left behind.

We are going to include cell numbers in the packets. But we need those numbers before hand so we can publish them. Send all cell numbers to me at
gherdlitchka@austin.rr.com

I already have Toms and Ed C's numbers.

IN FLIGHT REFUELING!

Tom,

You need to look at inflight refueling. That way you don't have to stop and refuel.!

I will be there with Snakecharmers old car, which means I'll need gas if we're going more than about a hundred miles.

How far will we be going? I may need several cans of gas...I'll call it "Rocket fuel".

Thanks,
Ted

Plenty Of Gas Stations along the way!

Ted,

There will be plenty of gas stations along the route. I think everybody stopped last year for gas. The only cobra that I know that needs special fuel is " The Royal Rhubarb";) . If you need special fuel then I'm sure we can load up gas cans for you!

Ed,
I'm trying to clear my calendar for that weekend. Our car isn't going to be anywhere close to ready so we will be in the pickup or Expidention and could pull a trailer if anyone in the Austin area has one available. I can't quite commit today but should know by Sunday. Let me know if someone has a trailer.

Calendar cleared for Friday and Saturday

Ed,
I've cleared the calendar for Friday and Saturday so the wife and I would be happy to provide support for the day. We can pull a trailer with either vehicle but let us know which would be more help, the Expedition (more people) or the F150 Supercrew (more stuff). Hope this helps.

More Drivers & Trailers

We need more drivers and trailers.

Mark, Thanks for being a driver. Bring whatever vehicle you want, as long as it can pull a trailer.

Who has a trailer for Mark to pull?

All drivers please email me your cell numbers at:

Got you covered. I guess we will bring the pickup. Hear tell some of the North Texas Cobras are so refined they have to have their own special fuel. Might need the open bed for some fuel cans.

See ya there,
Mark

If I can come, I can bring my '01 F150 SuperCrew -- it can tow, haul tools, people, whatever...

jrussell 01-26-2004 12:48 PM

O.K. Bobby, you can come..so there!

Bobby,
what do you mean "if you can come"? OF COURSE YOU CAN COME! Oops, sorry for shouting, but I think the question is whether you can live with the rest of us if you DON'T come! So there, end of story, get your but down there or I'll tell your dad on you:LOL:  ! Oh, wait, you are the dad...never mind!:
See 'ya in Austin,
John R.

I have an excellent cobra hauling trailer(16'w/2'dove), but nothing to pull it with at the current time. So, if someone wants to use it, let me know!

Well John, just to clarify -- what I mean by "if I can come" means "If Nick is well enough for me to leave him and his mom home for three days". Heck, the way things are progressing, he might just come with me!
