I tried it on my entire car, a polished aluminum CSX4000..and spent 10 hours removing it, as it dulled the luster of the large open areas. It left the appearance of a very light film. I believe it will work well for smaller, highly polished parts, however. It was not really intended to do what I was trying to accomplish, so I am certainly NOT down on the product.
