Smile hooters glaze

Dennis,
Finally got to say hi to Shelton at the SAT meet, but all was lost as his attention was not on COBRA's, asked him a question and he just wandered off with a glaze in his eye.
So I will ask you since you were still kinda focused on the meet.
There was a fella there with a build book on a LONE STAR that had asked me about pics to help on his build, do you have his eMail address, the one his wife rattled off isn't connecting, or maybe his phone number?
Send by CC PvtMail.
thanks,
Grumpy

Great meet! It was really great seeing everyone. I was pondering the dyno results and concluded that this was an unusually stingy dyno and that we should find a less hostile one before we do this again. Personally I prefer to use theoretical HP figures as it is less wear and tear on the engine and much cheaper to accomplish. Therefore, I will accept my 350 HP as real and see no reason to confirm this on some stupid dyno. Besides people tend to believe a Cobra should have this much power and rarely question me.The trick is to have enough chrome on the engine to give the illusion of tremendous power. Chrome is cheap compared to heads and blowers and stuff. So, my advice is to pick a believable number and exude confidence if questioned.Theoretically,Pete.

Pete, I LIKE your approach! We should all just ignore the dyno results or use a multiplier of between 1.5 and 2.0 to convert to "real" horsepower! I guess it's too late for me. I've been trying to think up excuses but now everybody knows...so, like Dennis says (and "Ahnuld"), "I'll be back", with bigger carbs, cooler air, etc., and more excuses...
An old saying, "Power costs money, how much you want?" Maybe we need to just pay the guy with the dyno more money to get the results we want...that must be what Scott did, hahahahaha...just joking, Scott, you missed a good one, so both you and Rick need to plan on strapping down at the next dyno meet...we want to see some REAL power!

Another sensible solution might be to find a graphics person to print up some blank dyno graphs and just fill in the desired name. In the meantime I'm going to scurry off to Autozone to purchase one of those slick chrome oil filter covers.Good for a theoretical 7 HP I've been told.Pete.

Looks like everyone had a great time. I'll have to join you guys for the next one.
As for the dyno tuning, keep in mind Steve at Houston Performance can add power. He takes his time to do it right. He dynoed my car for about 6 hours trying different combinations (jets, timing, etc.) and kept it safe the entire time. He told me not to push it, as trying for those last few ponies aren't worth it. Sounds about right to me.

See you all next time.

With all the Hooters activities, how did you guys get to visit Houston Performance for any testing.

Aaah - 10 cars expected and 4 turned up!! The others had to do photo shoots at Hooters.

Cheers

Bernie
