Default Aggie Cobra getting BIG upgrades

Well as some of you know, I have been debating if I would switch the Aggie Cobra to EFI. Well all decisions have been made. She is now undergoing MAJOR reconstructive surgery.

First I had decided to just unbolt the 6 duce and bolt on the efi stacks. Then I started to think about it and figured while I was at it I might as well redo the wiring in the engine compartment since I never really liked the way I had it done. THEN, I decided that maybe i should clean up the Aluminum panels of the engine compartment. Well to do that I really needed to remove the panels and to to that I would need to pull the engine.....SO out comes the engine. As do the panels...then someone goes out and buys some polishing compound and a buffing wheel....now we got all kinds of trouble.

Now I'm looking at the engine sitting next to the car minus the intake and I say to myself, "boy do the chambers of those edelbrock heads look a little rough". So I figure now would be a really good time for some Keith Craft heads....so off come the heads and I pick up the phone and now I have new heads on the way. (old heads will be hitting ebay soon).

Double check with Wayne at Very Cool Parts and he tells me that my stacks should ship tomorrow or Wednesday.

Since I plan to go distributorless with the efi system, out come the MSD Billet Distributor and the MSD 6AL....(also hitting ebay soon)

Now since we know the car won't be going anywhere anytime soon, I decided it was time I redo some things in the passenger compartment as well. Out come the seats, steering wheel and dash.

I have to say, that the people over at summit sure seemed happy to get my credit card number again. I really think they missed me.

You know this is just like building a new car, only I have a head start this time and know at least a little more about what I'm doing.

Who knows what I'll decide to do tonight....wonder how long it would take to get all the paint off? Just kidding

Pretty soon I going to wake up and realize that I have to put this thing back together again. And I expect a call from my banker any minute now.

Never fear, it will be back together for March in Austin....keep your fingers crossed and wish me luck.
