Drove Real 427 Cobra Today
Well now I can say I have driven a real 289 Cobra (several years ago) and a 427 Cobra, thanks to Mark Winkelman. Went over to help Mark sort out a few things on his 427 Cobra after work and then we took it out for a spin. I m pretty impressed with the ride and handling of the car. I really thought a 1966 vehicle would not ride and drive like that. 427 SO with dual carbs pretty impressive!
Thanks Mark, you made my day!

Did you have to change your shorts afterwards?

Really!
If we're all bragging about what we have driven, I drove Cammer's 427 SOHC last year.

Steve R: ya need to put a HEMI in that '68 Dart!!! Then you'll be able to get to work as fast as, IF not faster than, a 427 Cobra!!!

Gary: ya lucky dog, ya!!! I rode in a 500 HP 351W Backdraft Cobra several weeks ago (thanks to the GREAT GUYS at California Cobra in Lakeside) and I must say THAT car was AWESOME!!! I can only imagine, until I'm lucky enough to ride in a 427 myself, how incredibly fast the BB is!!! SOMEDAY I'm gonna get me one of those!! I am TOTALLY HOOKED on these SUPER COOL COBRAS!!! Never thought I'd be swayed to Ford (well, common here, they're NOT really Fords), being the MOPAR FANATIC I've been since I was around 10 years old!! However, with a Cobra, you can HAVE your cake AND eat it too!!!

Ya know it's kinda funny how you feel driving a car that worth
$ 350K to $ 400K plus.......I've driven plenty of real fast Cobra replicas and clearly Mark's real 427 Cobra was not even close to the fast Cobra I've driven but there was just something special about it?
