Anyone wanna help

Hello everyone,

I have heard alot about this website from a friend who also said I should post my plea here. My name is Jeff and I am newly divorced. I was married for 12 years and in the middle of adopting 3 orphaned kids aged 14, 12, and 9 when my wife decided that she wanted something else and left us. I am going to adopt on my own now and should be done next week with that. The kids have been with me for a year now and we all share the same dream of being able to build a cobra as a family. These kids have never had anything good happen up till now and I want that for them. Does anyone know of any organization that might be able to help me out a bit, or if there may be someone with a pile of parts in a garage they dont want. Anything to help us get started. As you can tell, I am desperately trying anything to get this project started. Thank you in advance for any help that you may be able to offer. hi, Jeff. good for you trying to do the right thing with the children. Sorry to hear of your misfortune, with the wife/ex. I don't have any spare parts, but maybe if some folks jump in with some we can all come up with items to help you along. Keep us informed.

As you likely guessed I am new to this site and trying to get to know the cobra community. I am not new to building cars as Ive restored several mustangs, but have never put myself to the test of a cobra thus far. Anyway, If you have the time, I would really like to hear about what your experience was like building your cobra. My kids and I are trying to get a realistic idea of whats involved, and I can tell it takes alot more than the tiny man hours that most kits claim.

Jeff,
I had a great time building my car. I actually took a few years to build my car, for a few reasons. The main reason is that I didn't have the cash to purchase my kit in one piece, so I bought the parts a little at a time. I called this the poor mans method, but I still got to the end. Second reason it took me so long is that I have a tendency to want to improve and rethink everything, (not necessarly necassary), but I'm happy with the results. I would bet that building a Cobra is easier than restoring a Mustang. My experience was great and I can't wait to build annother one.
