Default 2006 Club Cobra Fundraiser

The following is a sticky I have copied and posted from the ALL COBRA TALK site.
Brought it over here for those TCC members that never make it past this site and don't know about it.

2006 Club Cobra Fundraiser

For the past few years TURK and A-Snake have headed up the fund raising drive for the Club Cobra Forum and Brent Mills. These funds are used to keep the servers, etc., maintained. sponsors now help to defray Brent's costs via their ads, but Brent can use all the help he can get. Brent has done a wonderful job in establishing a premier board that is free to all its members. He works his magic to keep the fouum up and running. So these contributions are a token of our appreciation that Brent does not ask for, or expect.

Ever notice those little gold trophies next to the user name? That is what YOU get for showing your support for Club Cobra. Plus, there are advanced editing privilages and a members area for contributors.

In order to give TURK and A-SNAKE a break, I have volunteered to handle the fundraiser this year. I hope I can be as successful as they have been in the past years.

The membership to Club Cobra has grown to over 14,000 worldwide. Over 6,300 have posted at least once to the board. A large number of us know how beneficial and entertaining this board is. For someone wanting to buy or build a Cobra, I can't imagine not making use of the talent and information available on this board. For those of us that simply wish to BS about the hobby, or anything else, with other gear-heads, there is a place here to do that.

Now here is what you can do to support Club Cobra:

Write a check made out to Brent Mills. PLEASE DO NOT SEND CASH.

Mail the check to:

DAVID LOWELL
P.O. BOX 181432
DALLAS, TX 75218-9998

If you wish to pay by PayPal: (remember PayPal subtracts a fee)

The PayPal address is: thorin at airmail dot net (at = @ and dot = . no spaces)

Please include your user name and your real name no matter how you pay, I will not be able to find your user name.

Please e-mail or PM me with any questions or suggestions. I am open to ideas that will make this a very successful year. Last year A-SNAKE received 174 donations worth $7,245.74. Let's see if we can exceed both the number and the amount.

I would like to conclude the drive by the end of September.

YOUR CHECK WILL NOT CLEAR FOR SOME TIME. THE CHECKS, AND PAYPAL FUNDS, WILL BE SENT TO BRENT IN TWO GROUPS, ONE AT THE END OF AUGUST AND AGAIN AT THE END OF THE FUNDRAISER.

My apologies to A-SNAKE for the blatant plagiarism!

I will start a tally thread the end of next week.

Thorin,
Sent mine in over the weekend via PayPal. I'm not very PayPal literate, so I will watch the tally updates to make sure it came through. Thanks again for coordinating this so that Brent doesn't have to sit on the street corner with a "Will Work for Server" sign around his neck!

Everyone needs to give up a couple of bucks for Brent. After all, most of us wouldn't know each other if it wasn't for Club Cobra.
