It's Sunday morning, and I'm heading to TGI Fridays this afternoon. I picked the car up Friday night and she runs like a raped ape. I'm always amazing myself about how much I don't no. Jay N again has directed me in the right direction for mechanics.
If you can stand the heat, I'll see ya in Addison afternoon. |
Steve. can you post again what time?? I can't seem to find the thread.
not sure... always projects but who knows??? :D |
From "Gasoline Alley Car Shows" :
A total of 20 classes with 1st and 2nd place awards in each class. The entry fee is still only $10 with registration from 1-2:30p.m. Voting 2:30-3p.m. and awards will be around 4:30-5:00 p.m. So Kristen if you show up about 3, the voting will be over and Steve will have a chance....  Steve, "a raped ape?" Too much National Geographic TV for you!! |
did a little zipping around in the 500 this afternoon. Stopped by to check on Steve. He won 'best of class'. Way to go, Steve!!! :MECOOL:
heard Colleen stopped by with flyers to 'her' car show.. Sept. 30, i think, at Firewheel Mall. I hope to make that one!! :p Also, Jay had been by. Well it was a hot one today, so i was glad to be in the 500 with AC!!! K |
What's up everyone, just thought I would chime in my work hours increased since I hired more agents, but no I am doing a steady 30 hrs or so a week, also got to get the car ready for the studio shot this Thursday, so alot of detailing and not so much driving this week.

I forgot about this show. It's usually lots of fun and would have shown up if I had remembered.

Steve:
A raped ape? First in class? Priceless! Way to go...sorry I missed the show. Congrats. See you Saturday. |
That's two references to my "raped ape" comment. I dug that one up way from the past. My best friend from high school had so many colloquialisms, I don't think I can remember half of them.
But my favorite, which I always use on my wife is: "twenty seven and a half pounds of dangling fury". I think you all KNOW what a guy would be referencing then!   Hey Larry, how did the drug run go??? |
Steve:
RN Jackie medically speaking says: "a man's brain can weigh up to seven and a half pounds, not one's dangling fury." She asked, "What do you think with?" Progresso Nuevo was steamy hot. The Does XX's were ice cold and the savings on our Rx's paid for the trip. Thanks for asking. |
Steve,
Best In Class? Bringing along your Ape, shouldn't it have been Best In A$$ ? Since your car doesn't have a name, I'm recommending Cornelius....;) Oh, Larry I can see it now, "Hola Senior Reyburn, mas Viagra for you?" |

hey hey, Miles. Good luck tomorrow!
what 'hotel' you staying at??? I can come by and perk you up nice and good after the surgery. I'm sure Amy would appreciate the break, right?? hmmmm break. might not be the best choice of words. not that you broke anything.... well, break a leg!!!! uh, i mean, 'good luck'!!! :D :D i'll call ya, buddy. :) K |
Thanks for the well wishes,
My stay at Hotel Presby starts at 6am tomorrow. Should be enjoying a Patron drip by 7:30. Then the sawing starts. Made the mistake of watching a video of hip replacement surgery over the weekend. Me and my stupid curiousity. I would have been just find without THAT! Kristen, no worries about the nurse's outfit, Amy wouldn't fall for it either...:( Enjoy breakfast next week without me. Someone order blueberry pancakes for me! Gotta get this wheel fixed, Beckham's due back here in the fall and I've gotta practice! As Jack Lord so definitively put it, "Aloha" |
Miles:
I can speak from my past surgical experiences...be compliant! When you are in rehab...do what they tell you! How long will they keep you confined, assuming no issues? Jackie and I will be keeping you and Amy (Amy during your convelesence) in our prayers. Hell, we may buzz the "Hotel Presby" Saturday am and by-pass the pig races and pony rides. Hang in there and don't be hesitant to ask for PAIN Meds before you need them. Remember..."It's not racing...it's traaacking...there is a difference!" Peace. |
Miles - One word: Bromelain
It's a pineapple extract that is an anti-inflammatory. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bromelain#Medical_uses My doctor recommended it a few years ago when I had surgery to reduce swelling. He recommended it partly because reducing the swelling also helps the scar heal better and more smoothly. After using it, I was a total believer. And when I had an employee that had shot himself between the fingers with a deer rifle and was having trouble with the swelling going down, I had him ask his doctor if he could try it. He's a believer (although as evidenced by the gun shot wound - not the sharpest tack in the box). You can get it at GNC. Good luck! |
Miles... you ready for visitors??? ;) :D
|
Hope to hear good news soon, Miles.
I have a Morphine-English dictionary, so as soon as you can lift a finger, let us hear from you. |
Miles,
I trust your surgery went well and you are on the road to recovery. Let me know how that Petron drip works out. Godspeed on your recovery and rehab. Clois |
Well, I made it.
When the doc got in there, the hip socket was slightly worse than expected. Cartilage was gone and I had started bone-on-bone contact. But all went well and I'm chock full of titanium. Light weight and rust free! The last 2 days have been a blur (Vicodin + Oxycontin=Good Nice Alice!) but they had me up and walking 10 hours after surgery! 20 feet, 40 feet, 60 feet. I'll run a post route this afternoon. Took the IV, oxygen, calf inflaters out this morning. But, man, when they took that catheter out  That will wake you up! Never had one of those before and not sure lil buddy's looking forward to another one! They say I'm doing well and should be ready to go home tomorrow evening. Gotta go potty by myself and walk a loop around the nurse's station. Thanks again for the well wishes and I'll miss yall at breakfast! |
