HELLO????!!!! anybody alive in big D???

pretty quiet around here.
What's everybody doing?? Anybody driving?? pretty hot....

I got lucky the other night..... ;)

no, Matt, David... not what you're thinking....

managed to sweetly get out of an itty bitty little ol speeding ticket in the 500. David was with me (with his adult beverage!!!) and couldn't believe it....

lucky......
Second warning at the exact same location in 3 years... hmmmm
BUT.... different cars. The suburban, and now the 500. uhoh. guess i need to slow down right there, huh???
:D

jshel1 08-20-2007 06:43 PM

K,

Let' hope the 3rd time isn't the charm. Next time, it will likely be speeding, open container, and a minor with their shoes off.

Check out the picture of my new transmission in my gallery.

hey,littlecobra 08-20-2007 06:53 PM

ya got me. i was momentarily puzzled, looking all over for your transmission....

poor you!
how's it going?? all done?? The rubber mallet tip help out??

two steps forward, one step back. you'll get there sweetie!!! :)

Kristen,

A bunch of us went to the SCAT meeting/lunch at Keith Craft Motorsports and then down the street to eat lunch on Saturday. Two Ford GTs (not Matt or David) about 5 GT 500s, Winkelman's 427 Cobra, few other cobras replicas and some other Shelbys. Nice turn out.........

hey,littlecobra 08-20-2007 08:11 PM

wish i had remembered to come. darn. I could have made it if i'd remembered! and... i even got the email. darn.
oh well!
what are we doing for the September meet??
breakfast??

Looks like John’s wife has invoked the law of “Compensating Balances”, transmission is looking good.

Been hiding out from the heat finally got the body on the Lone Star, then got the body off of the Lone Star. Now doing the undercoating have it scheduled to go to paint the end of October.

I've dropped mine off at ET Automotive to chase down a couple of problems. Larry has the coupe at Keith Craft to triple the horsepower. And Miles, how goes Annie? As soon as we get our cars back, I say we head down for beer and burgers again on a Wednesday night.

Clois Harlan 08-21-2007 10:26 AM

Hey Steve,

Are we going to see you at Run and Gun?

I realized at Road America this weekend I needed a bigger better breathing air cleaner. So, off with the turkey pan and the little bitty air cleaner and on with a drop base and a K&N breather lid and filter. I ran out of power on those long straights of the 4.2 mile road course. I just took the air filter off completely and gained about 100 hp or it felt like it.

Kristen,

You are one lucky gal...but to be honest with you I couldn't have written you a ticket either.

Hey John are you sure that has a proper Windsor bolt pattern?

Anyways I hope by next spring I am driving around in my wifes new swimming pool!

Madmiles442 08-21-2007 08:29 PM

Annie's doing okay. Burnt alternator, so only short trips. She's living on the trickle charger like a comatose on a saline drip...
I'm game for a mid-week get-together - suddenly find myself with plenty of time as I was laid off today. No worries, busy market, I'll land on my feet.
So let's burn some gas, baby!

LREYBURN 08-21-2007 08:38 PM

Kristen:

I just saw that the Houston group posted their Lake Conroe date...what do you think??

Let's see...hmmmm...Run'ngun...or KOA Lake Conroe??? Lots of track time with FUN PEOPLE vs. Lots of FUNNNN! with GREAT PEOPLE!

Run'nGun with vehicle dynamics, set up, scales & balancing, spring weight and shock/handling adjustments with 7:30am safety/instructional/driver's meetings, vehicle prep, & open track with NASCAR back straight, turn 3 into turn 4 hitting 6000 rpm with hard braking and diving down into turn one...have you ever screamed inside your helmet?

or...

Lake Conroe & Cruisin' with Chips'n salsa..."margaret eaters," sunsets over the water, with lots of good lookin' honey..."where there's money there's HONEY!" Awesome tailgates, and lots of "Hey! What you got under the hood?" Let me see...I'll show you mine. A short haul (200+ miles vs 650)...hmmmm?

Clois/Jay/Kristen/James/et al: "See you in St. Louie"

Have a great time at Lake Conroe...Both SUPER events...MAKE ONE OR THE OTHER!!!

My coupe is at Keith Craft's surgical center getting a new pacemaker, lung and respitory system enhanced and I think Dr. Rob said new primary arteries, or did they say a colonic irrigation.

It should be released by Thursday...I'm in for a free beer and a burger at Fat Daddy's next Wed. 8-29, like Steve suggested...anyone else?

jdean 08-22-2007 01:44 AM

Man.....I would be in on the Fat Daddy's again. Unfortunately I won't be in town.
Can't get a burger like that in Madrid!

Miles, I can sympathize about the job situation. Sorry to hear it but I'll bet you'll be hard at work in no time so enjoy some cruising while you're on the bench.

Larry, when your car gets back from surgery, you may be the one needing some oxygen!

Madmiles442 08-22-2007 05:58 AM

Anyone game for something THIS week or weekend?
Thursday evening at Pappa's BBQ or Friday afternoon at BlackFinn (Addison) or Saturday evening at Keller's?
I'm trying to get in all the driving I can. My insurance runs out at the end of the month, so I moved up my hip replacement for THIS TUESDAY  and won't be able to push a clutch for 2-3 months.

hey,littlecobra 08-22-2007 06:06 AM

wow, Miles!
let me check my calendar. :)
I'd LIKE to do all, will see if any fit. :JEKYLHYDE
we just haven't done anything fun in awhile!

Ok. might as well make the announcement here....
"Due to unforseen circumstances, or rather due to circumstances beyond my control, Run n Gun will have to go on without me."

I loved absolutely EVERY MINUTE of the trip last year- well except the flat tire on the trailer in the POURING DOWN RAIN- and am very sad and disappointed that this year doesn't work out.
I guess I should have thought about MY fun before I had all these kids!

I wish i could do the Lake Conroe thing, too! But.... none of the above. :(

I am hopeful that Jim will be able to put something together for us at the new Eagle Canyon track as that will help me get in some of the fun roadracing I'm missing.
But I am ALWAYS game for a quick cruise or drive in.

Larry, your comparision and description of r n g and Conroe was awesome! great job! :D

Who's putting together the Fall cruise and when is it?? :)
K
oh yes, i'll get back with you Miles on what works better for me.
Do you need me to come visit you at the hospital and 'play nurse' next week?? I could massage your hip... ;)

SSSammy 08-22-2007 06:53 AM

Miles!

Sorry to hear about your layoff :( .. anybody but irrepressable you would be down in the dumps :D I'm game to attend an event this week, y'all decide what works. I'll come in the truck. Still nothing in my Cobra garage and no idea when that is going to change.

Here's how I'm going to help you .. I'll be happy to take Annie off your hands for the duration of your recuperation :D She deserves a chance at happiness too! I could even take her to RnG if she wants .. I promise to bring her back with no tire tread remaining :D:D

Cheers,
Sam

Clois Harlan 08-22-2007 06:54 AM

Our level of intimidation just went down. Kristen, I personally will miss you very much and the whole event will be compromised by your absense but I understand how lifes schedule changes. When the new track opens let me know and I will be there unless my schedule interfers with some fun.

Kristin, I just might need some nursemaid help. Tell you what, I'll share my Vicodin if you could slip into this little number. I mean, really, you should look professional and all....

Clois Harlan 08-22-2007 10:05 AM

I want Kristen to be my nurse...I really like that uniform Miles:)

hey,littlecobra 08-22-2007 11:55 AM

cough cough..... her neck is too big. her shoulders too broad. her legs photoshopped too slim. Her bosom too high. But I like her hair!

I'll see what I can do about the uniform. ;)
