Default Goodbye 460 on Sunday

Well, if all goes as planned, I should be able to pull the 460 this Sunday afternoon. If the weather holds as predicted, mid 60's but wet, I could use some help east of Dallas.

OK, OK......beer and hot wings included.

Default Sure!

Happy to come help .. after your most excellent assist with my project! Too bad the weather is lousy .. I could drive it down there Nah, I haven't cranked it yet. Just one remaining issue with the starter motor to deal with.

Do you still want the generic engine cradle I have? I forgot to give it to you. Don't know if it will fit the BBF, but it worked on the 390.

Might want to consider the English custom of drinking beer at cellar temp, tho'.

Sam

I would say start count down to lift off about 2:00 PM. This will give me plenty of time to get all fluids drained and most everything dissconnected on Saturday and Sunday morning. I will need help pushing cars in and out of garage.

Sam, no need for the cradle. I'll either use the one that the new motor came on, or Mark B dropped one off already.

Thanks guys. I'll PM everyone with an address and phone number.

I talked with Gym J Cups this morning, and it looks like he's starting his upgrade this week too. It's like Christmas in January!!!!!

Wow! Thanks for the great response. Even though I know it's for the beer and wings.

Everyone please check this thread Sunday morning to verify I'm on schedule.

Thanks again,

Default I'm Packed

I have an overnight bag packed and have made hotel arrangements at the midpoint. In all seriousness, do you need any of us to bring any tools, etc.?

You know.... if you have any special tools you think I might need, bring them. I really don't want to make quick runs to Lowe's again.

As a matter of fact, if anyone has a steering wheel puller, please bring it. I have to change out the race cars wheel out to a quick release. I can't get my fat butt over the new roll cage and under the steering wheel without neutering myself.

Default We're on

OK,

"Most" of the fluids are drained, and what a mess that was. Anybody want some used coolant? Disconnected everything on top of the engine, now working on the underneath. I will be ready this afternoon.

WARNING!!!! Whoever decides to help, you will get greasy. A small oil leak caused a mess below. Bring an extra set of clothes and some work gloves.

9:50 edit:
Please bring tools; box-end wrenches (3/8" 12 point) to remove headers. Ran into a problem this morning.

Thanks in advance.

(Yes, I bought a case of beer yesterday) & (Yancey will make a wings run)
