What Happened?
Ok Gang,
I have been trying to follow the Spring Meet as best as I could, so could some one tell me what happened over the weekend. I know the weather might not have cooperated.
Pictures and an update please

Greg, Kountze must be as bad as Baghdad when it comes to current events news. I haven't heard any info either!

Sorry guys...we had so much fun, everyone is still probably recovering...more to follow when everyone wakes (and sobers!!) up!
Highlights/lowlights...The weather was overcast and very occasionally 'drizzly', but didn't really interfere other than we cancelled the visit to the Driveway Austin track on Friday after The Oasis lunch cruise. The photo session on Saturday went off without a hitch, and there were no serious accidents or damages. Couple of cars caught fire (put out!), couple broke down (MINE INCLUDED...had to be flatbedded home!!) on the Hill Country cruise. Turnout was phenomenal, and we filled the parking lot much more than last year. All the vendors there were GREAT at providing entertainments, libations, door prizes, humor, general advice. Whenever a hood opened for whatever reasons, there were 96 experts gathered around (well, 96 OPINIONS at least...lol) oohing and aahing and saying "you should try...". All the cars looked perfect, even the ones still in gelcoat, and when 100 Cobras are all in line, burbling down Texas highways, the sight and the sound are enough to stir the blood of a dead person!
LOTS of people took LOTS of photos, so by the end of the day I have no doubt you will be drowning in sights and memories posted here. You were both missed, but do NOT miss it next time around!

Greg,
I picked up and gave your T-shirts to our new president (Cammer) for delivery to you. Debra said there would be no charge for you, just get back safe. I took 175+ photos and will make a CD for you. Send me your mailing address if you want me to send the photos to you, or I'll give you the CD when you get home.

Greg,
Lots of fun even without the sun but would of been much better if you would of been there with us! Lots of people taking pictures so when they all get home and settled I'm sure you will see a ton. So many new faces and crowds just keep building. On Friday night when we were serving the food I thought the line was never going to end. I bought 300 drink holders and ran out. Be safe my friend!!!

There was a disproportionate amount of mishaps this weekend, myself included. Don't know what the bad mojo was, but someone forgot their lucky rabbit's foot.
Overheard while sipping Knob Creek in the parking lot -
Did you hear about the car fire?
Yea, the one on 6th street?
Yea, heard about that one, but how about the other one?
Oh, the other one was a guy from Houston.
No, not that one, the other one at El Arroyo.
Oh, that one wasn't a fire, just a disconnected radiator hose.
Oh, okay.

well we certainly missed you, Gregg.
you were toasted and thought of during the annual meeting on Saturday.
I'm SURE if you were here the conference group taking up ALL the parking spaces on Thursday would have happily moved at your request. The parking lot thing was the only real challenge.
Pepe performed like a champ and had no issues. No electrical, no fuel, no fires, nothing. thank God!!!
A few sprinkles, but just enough to get the cars messy and keep the speeds down. Not a bad thing, really.
It was really nice to see the water level on Lake Travis up- while sitting on the patio at the Oasis. A lovely time, but very cloudy, misty, and not much of a horizon view. No downpours, tho'.
The cruise to El Arroyo was very nice, as usual. Great route on to the photo shoot, where miraculously no one appeared to have gotten lost. Then a nice cruise around, and back to the hotel around 5.
Light jackets in the parking lot in the evening, so nice that it wasn't really cold!!
Met several new people from here on CC, and glad about that.
The 'banned item' made several rounds around the mirrors of several cars, and i think Dennis is the proud recipient, for this year.
The next worse thing to you not being there, was Kountze not being there. (since he's not in harm's way, you definitely pull rank in my book)
My gallery is full, so will try to upload to snapfish and make a link. New thing for me, so might take a bit of time. I'll try!
oh and one more thing.....
yours truly is Texas's newest ambassador, as i was elected by my peers as the 'Miss Texas Cobra Club for 2008'
I'll be back next year to relinquish my title.
we love you and miss you!!
hurry home!
Kristen
