Default Blue and white Cobra owner

Recently I moved to North Dallas, Yesterday a blue and white Cobra was spotted in the residential area (635 & Welch) and just curious who I have for a neighbor?

Patrick,
I know when I first started my searching last year I ran into a guy on the FFR forum that lived in that area that was almost complete. I can't remember his name though.

Well, hopefully he sees this, would be neat to find him and have a Cobra owner as a neighbor again.

I went and looked on the FFR board and his username is Starboy there and he lives in North Carrollton not Dallas. Don't know if it is the same guy or not.

I have a blue and white cobra in Rowlett, but it was not me that you saw. Maybe there are more cobras around Dallas than I thought.

351,
There are quite a few. I hope to join the ranks of owner in a few years. Check this forum for our monthly meetings. We meet the first Saturday of the month for b-fast/lunch depending on the time of the year. Now that it is cooling off, we are shifting it to lunch. Plans are not usually made until just a day or 2 before hand. Jshel1 has a Guardsman Blue and White Hurricane in Rowlett that is almost complete.

Well 351W,

Introduce yourself. As said before, John is in Rowlett. And I am in Rockwall, Blue & White SPF with "08" markings. Also, Jim J Cups, John, Cobra-less Kristen and myself like to caravan to the monthly meetings. You should join us.
The initiation fee isn't too steep.

Default Thanks for the Welcome!

Thanks folks. I am new, the car only has about 200 miles on it, and lately I have been fighting some nasty electrical issues along with a leak of the rear end fluid on the drivers side. I think it was over filled when it was put in.

The breakfasts/lunches sould like a good time, I will see if I can make it.

Electrical is my game, what issues are you fighting? Do you by chance have a schematic of the car? If so, we can figure out anything pretty easily. If not, we can still figure it out, just don't have a map to tell us where to look.

Don't worry about the car for the meetings, I don't even have one yet, and I am welcomed the same as the long time members.

Default Electrical

Thanks Joe, I think I have finally fixed the issue. I would go out to start the car, and the battery would be dead. The meter on the dash always indicated a good charge while the engine was running, but overnight the battery would drain. I disconnected the neg cable to the battery, and plugged in a test light between the lead battery connector and the battery post. The test light gave a glow you could read the paper from. Then I went to the fuse box and started pulling fuses. Pretty soon I got to the 4 way flasher circuit and when I pulled the fuse the light went out. That told me what circuit was the culprit, and it wasn't long until I found that the flashing unit had shorted out. Once I replaced it, I did not have any more issues.

But electrics is not my strong point, I am just a computer geek, and its great to know there are folks that are willing to lend a hand. If you have not decided which kit you are going to get, may the owners in this forum can tell you what they like about their cars, (and what they don't), to help out new buyers like you.

Thanks again;

Yep sounds like you got it. Good troubleshooting aid is to pull fuses until the problem goes away. I would watch your voltage for a while though. Shorts like that can cause damage to the battery that will not show itself right away. I would recommend taking to autozone or where ever and have them do a load test on the battery. See what the cranking amps are vs what they are supposed to be. You won't necessarily need to change it right away, but it may help to know the status if there is an issue later with charging.

As far as a kit, I have all but decided on Hurricane. I have been hanging around these guys for a year now and know that I like ERA, Superformance, Backdraft and Hurricane. I am not a fan of the perky butt on the FFR. I looked at Lonestar and I like the product, but I want a 90" wheel base solely because that is what the originals were.
