Thumbs up Upcoming "Make a Wish" event......

Great story for a horrible situation...

The story of Carson Leslie, a 16 year old from Dallas:
http://www.clipsyndicate.com/video/p..._carson_leslie

Update: Carson's condition turned for the worst, and the doctors have estimated only 2 months left for his life.

One of his last requests was to have the opportunity to go not only fast, but "really fast" in a race car. Well, as always, the automotive enthusiasts come though.

The Vintage Racing League (VRL) was asked to organize an event for Carson. They in turn broadcast a request to the Corinthian Vintage Auto Racing (CVAR) members to see if there is any interest. Man oh man...... get in line.

The line up.
The little guys:
1962, Austin-Healey 3000
1969 Lotus Elan plus 2
1974 Porsche / 911 Carrera
The ground pounders
1966 Ford Mustang Shelby
1966 Ford Mustang Coupe
1965 Ford Mustang Fastback (That's me)
1965 Shelby Daytona Coupe Replica (Larry Rayburn) Although Larry doesn't race his coupe, we determined that stuffing two people into his Formula Ford just wouldn't be comfortable.
1972 Chevy Corvette (one fast SOB)
1967 Chevy Camaro (one really fast SOB)

Others:
Late model Ferrari
Viper
Corvette Z06

The GREAT folks at Eagles Canyon Raceway are providing the track, and a custom racing suite and helmet for Carson to ride.
This event will be held Wednesday morning, July 8th at ECR from 9:00 - 12:00. If any interest to drive your Cobra out and watch, please do. (Sorry no track time)

Great story on the link.

That is the kind of stuff we should be participating in.

Dude, this is awesome! Love that yall can make such a wish come true, especially in short order.
If you get a contact with Make a Wish, let them know I'd be willing to do something similar in the future with the Cobra. I'm sure others would too.

The Eagles Canyon Make a Wish event has been postponed. Carson Leslie is going to Memphis Wed. am for hopefully a cure of his brain tumor. Our prayers are with him and his family. Thanks Steve for the invite.

I am interested in hearing any updates if there are any. Best wishes to Carson and I hope they cure the cancer and you still get the ride.
