Default Anyone running a ERA with 18" and 6 pots?

Curious to know if anyone is running a ERA Cobra with 18 inch wheels (335's in the rear and 275's in the front) with bigger brakes and six piston calipers in the front?

Default Running 17" pins with 12" rotors

Scotthei05 Scott running the 335/35/17" tires in the back of the car 265 in the front. You would have to ask Bob P about running larger wheels. I am not sure if you will have the room with out changing the control arms and other parts.
Why are you looking to go bigger? My car weights 2705 lbs. With getting to the correct tire pressures you are still leaving about 1" on either side without road contact. With a car this light, there is NO PRE WARNING about loosing grip. Morris and Cobra #3170 have both done alot of suspension work and run either 18 or 19" wheels. Both are running 14" rotors. They both have pictures under their names to look at the cars. Everything is custom.
I think there is a FINE line with how much more you can do to this car without causing other problems. I am guessing but both cars ar in the 3,000 pound weight. I know the Morris car is with the ground effects. A wing that makes about 1,000 pounds down force at 130 mph. Front spoiler that sucks the car into the ground. It handles and runs like a slot car or go kart.
I can put my car on it's nose with the 12" setup from ERA. I have changed spring rates, shocks and have a 4 1/2" ground clearance. If you are gong racing, You may want to look at a couple of the other car companies that have lighter cars, simpler frames, carbon fiber bodies, and a couple are setup for 18" wheels. I am not saying you can't do this with and ERA but carring around 2-400 pounds for racing is silly. The nice thing is you can move the weight around the car and give it a low location. You also may want to look at Power steering too. I have it on my car Bob engineered it and Doug built it. Works great. Good luck with your build. Rick L.

Thanks for the reply. Not as interested in the 18 inch wheels as I am with larger brakes (swept surface area) for racing and riding it hard. Worried about the brake fade.

Another question - is it possible to put some sort of anti-locking braking system on a ERA.

I think I'm more interested in the ERA car versus others who are lighter. I like what I've read about the frame, rear end, suspension geometry/setup, aluminum panels offering addition rigidity, and so on. So I'm trying to figure out how much out of the box changes could I do.

power steering (electric power steering)
power brakes/larger brakes
possibly the T56 trans (Transzilla or Son of Transzilla)

This sort of thing....
