Default Goodyear Billboard painted on Avon's

Has anyone used the Goodyear template on the Avon's? I love the look of the Goodyears, but after researching this forum for the past week it seems like the Avon's are better for the street.

It's not just the Goodyear logo that makes billboards look great on a cobra, but also the protruding rounded side belly of the side wall on the tyre.

This can't be replicated with other tyres.

I'd personally opt for painting "Avon" on the tyre.

Eitherway enjoy your ride

Paint AVON instead, lots of GT 40's have it that way.

Why?
Go with AVON painted on tire. The Goodyear's have a ridge around writing however not often within the lines. Dave Bates did the AVON approach and it looked great!

If that does not work you can buy me Avon's and I will send you my Goodyear tires....

I was once of the idea that I had to have GOODYEAR on my tires. I went with HOOSIER & have been happy with the look. I'd be just as happy with AVON or GOODYEAR. Big White letters stand out, no matter what they say.

The Hoosier's look good, are those the the Pro-Street radials? 27x10.5R-15 at all four corners?

Avons are heavy compared to goodyear billboards and they don't fill up rear fender wells like goodyear. Have avon tires on halibrand mag wheels and the combination does not come out as far, especially in the back. For looks you can't beat the goodyears on trigo wheels look, in my opinion. Avons do ride better and they are D.O.T. approved. After the two weeks of running around for graffiti celebration in Modesto, I will put the goodyears back on, just looks so much better on car.

When I redid the car, I set the widths of the axles to accomodate the wheels with the Goodyears specifically.

Avons rear tire size 275, Billboard rear tire size 295, I always like the fat tire in back, Billboards only flat spot if you dont drive your car, get out and drive these things.

Hoosier TD
25.5x10 rears
25.5x8.5 front

I need to go taller on the rear next time. I was trying to cross reference the sizes for the best fit when I ordered them. I don't like the way the rears fit the fender

My Avons are 295 in the rear.

And last I checked the Goodyear BB's do not use metric sizes.

Avons come in 275 and 295, I was commenting on the thread where they said they dont fill out the wheel well, those would be the 275, and if you go by Avon size for the Billboards, they are 295, all the specs are on Roger Kraus racing site. They actually have 2 sizes in Billboards also for rear.

I think the ERA site also makes mention of the AVON sizing being a little off.

At least the link I have for Roger Kraus only shows two sizes of the "Billboards". 26.5 X 8.0-15 (front) and 26.5 X 10.5 (rear). This is for the Goodyear rain tire that most refer to as the Billboards.

If you are referring to the G7 Chicken Scratch dry tire as the Billboards, then yes, ther are two rear sizes if you so desire a smaller rear tire.

Either that or you and I are looking at different sites, which is very possible.
