Default would like some help with tires

I have 275-60-15 on the back of my car now and would like to stay with that size. Will be using the car for mostly fun street driving and a little on the track so I would like a performance tire. Have seen you guys talk about Coopers, Mickey Thompson, Avon. Do not know where to get Avon tires. would be thankful for any help. Rat

Roger Kraus Racing Ent., Inc.- Castro Valley, CA.
They can probably answer any tire questions you have. They also sell Avon tires.

I have the same size Goodyear Eagle II on my car. 255/60-15 Front

They are old and hard, but I cannot go away from the 15 and white Goodyear look. So I have just ordered some GY BB's.

I have read all the comments on this and other sites, and want the looks and grip over the risk of square tires and having to slow on some roads.

I will let you know when I have got them on.

One great thing about 15" wheels is the ride. The big side walls really help to soften the crappy roads.

Rat :
I have Cooper Cobras, while I have never been a big fan of Cooper tires (had a bad experience with my Lincoln Navigator once) these came with my Cobra and they are great and excellent traction. I have the MT in stock to change as soon as my Coopers are due to be changed. As for the AVONs I think they are over priced and difficult to get in 15" I would not change the wheel size if I were you.
Hope this helps
Lou

Lou,
The Avons are expensive and hence a bit of a bitter pill to swallow, but once the pill is swallowed the cure for mediocre handling 15" Cobras is undeniable. Hard to get? I can't buy them at Costco. I can make a phone call and have a set at my front door in 5 days without a problem. Planning a tire change 5 days in advance isn't a real big problem for me. Traction is just like horsepower. If you want more, it's going to cost you.
