Has anyone experience with the letters from tredwear.com?

I put about 3500 miles on it and the new owner 2000. No problems....still looking good.

I have bought the treadwear kit but have not installed them yet. A few others have installed them and they look great. Search "Avons & Treadwear" and you should find the posts

How well do they go over the real lettering, so you don't get lines across the vinyl ?

Just sand down the nubs and thicker raised letters. Before gluing you can put them on the tire to see how they will lay. It's an easy process overall, just take your time.

I have a set of new Billboards from 7 years ago, but have never mounted them.

If,....their not usable (because of possible age dry rot) when I get the Cobra engine done, I will buy a set of the vinyl's Eagles, as they do look good.

I wanted billboards in a bad way but the lack of DOT and accelerated aging properties were just not acceptable. The Avons are superior and the billboard kit does exactly what it is supposed to do...looks awesome.

Here are some pics of my Tredwear letters. I sanded down the Cooper Cobra letters with a palm sander and 100 grit paper.

No,

The 60's Goodyears were much smaller and did not use the "Eagle" brand. Why does everyone think this is a "vintage look" as it only dates to the mid 80's!

The 80s are vintage now.

Lol! Good point!

MK VI ;) , You're right though - I imagine the reason the billboard look is so popular is because of the look and the reality that many of us just don't realize the blue streaks are more period correct.

FUNFER2 06-18-2016 04:18 PM

It's too bad for use Cobra guys that no company's will make new radial Billboard's. Just not enough buyers. :(

Hi all.
I am considering these to put on my 17" tyres. But what size should I use?

There is four options, being:
1″ Modern Stretched Billboard
2″ Standard Vintage Tire Kit
2.25″ XL
2.5″ XXL

But I am not 100% sure what the sizing means? Is it the height of the letters? What looks best on a 17" rim?

Thanks
